Hi, forgive me for missaying some stuff, kinda bad with computers :<

So a few months ago I bought a new PC;

GeForce GTX 770,
i5-3570 3.4 ghz
ASRock Z77 Pro3
8gb ram
OCZ ModXStream Pro
win 7 64bit

Everything worked amazing. Had awesome FPS on ultra settings in games like BF3, Bioshock Infinite etc. Everything ran so smooth.

Since two days ago I still have good FPS, but games like BF4, FIFA 14 cause so much stutter that it feels like im playing with 10 fps. I removed my drivers, Installed older version. Didn't help. Reinstalled windows, didnt help. This afternoon i did some browsing and i found out i had the setting 'Power management mode' on ''adaptive'' which apparently isn't good. I changed it to 'prefer maxium performance' and suddenly i had no lag or whatsoever in BF4. Now since a hour ago the lag came back and i have no idea what to do. I dont really know how to explain what it looks like but its stuttering all the time, and sometimes the fps drops from 300 to 0ish and my screen goes black for a few seconds. Funny thing is, when I play TF2 i get no 'lag' at all. I also play with a 120hz monitor. Please help :<

Oh ye, the temps are fine.

Check your memory seatings.
Run memtest86 (http://www.memtest86.com/), you will need a CD or USB stick for this.
Run EVGA OC Scanner (http://www.evga.com/ocscanner/)

If the sound keeps running and you just lose the image, most likely your gpu or memory.

Thanks. How much FPS should i be getting while running the EVGA OC Scanner?

'If the sound keeps running and you just lose the image'

This is the case. I'm really starting to think its my gpu, which suprises me so much because its not older then 4 months. fml :|

It's not so much about what fps you're looking for, it's about recreating the problem in a controlled environment, and once you are able to recreate the problem, you are able to begin ruling out the possibilities.

-On the 3D Test drop-down box, select the 'GPU memory burner::3072MB', it's the highest test available even though your GPU has 4GB of memory, should be fine though. Then select the Preset drop-down box and select your screen resolution from that, if it's not available, then select 'Custom' and enter your resolution in the boxes below. Also make sure you have 'Artifact Scanner' checked below that. Select 'Settings' over on the right and set the duration to 120 or 180 and then close that window. Hit 'Benchmark' and let that run for 2 or 3 minutes and see if your screen goes black or something weird happens.

-Next, drop down the 3D test box again and select 'Furry E GPU Core Burner', this will stress your GPU hardcore. Make sure your resolution and preset are still correct and what not, hit the 'Benchmark' button and let that test run for another 2-3 minutes. Make sure you keep an eye on your GPU temp readings on the bottom of the screen while they're running.

And yea, I have never personally had someone receive a bad graphics card, so it's a rare thing in my experience, but I am sure that it happens.

My screen went black and the program stopped working while running the GPU memory burner test. temps were fine though. And it took me 5 minutes to type this, cuz my CPU usage is going to 100% every second, lol.

Haven't read the entire thread, but could it be your cpu getting too hot?

I can see why BF4 would suck, because that game is still in the beta.
That game gives me very inconsistent FPS as well.
'fps drops from 300 to 0ish' Are you trying to tell me that you get 300 fps in BF4?

Idk, update your Motherboards BIOS.
If it's only with those two games, it should be a issue with-in the games.

Nah, like i mentioned, its in every game that pretty much requires a good gpu. I get about 250-300 fps in FIFA, BF4 is about 50-60 fps for me, but it feels like 10 fps because of the stutter. It all sounds so weird. 3 days ago i had no issues, now its just. Ugh... Even this afternoon BF4 was playable for me. Few hours later its back to shit.

No issue's AT ALL in TF2.
