After a month of fundraising, the donations have slowed to the point where I think it's time to end my donation drive. Since July 8th, you guys have raised $8523 in 217 donations via my ImRaising page, and several hundred more through other donation channels. Approximately $5,500 of that was raised in the first 24 hours during the initial stream marathon.

The concern and generosity you displayed in our fellow TF2 player's time of need is both astounding and humbling. Our community is truly unique in it's ability to rally around a cause, as shown time and time again through events such as i46/i49, Tip of the Hats, and this.

Rather than try and speak on Kyle's behalf, I've gathered a statement directly from him:

Kyle 'ghos7ayama' MarichI hate to keep beating a dead horse, but I want to really thank all you guys one last time. You've all been mindblowingly helpful these past few weeks. Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected to get this kind of response. You guys have raised just over $9000 dollars for me and my family in our time of hardship. Seriously, words cant describe how awesome this is. And better yet, how thankful my family and I are for what you all have done.

My sister has been coming along slowly but surely the past few weeks. She spent 3 weeks in ICU and has now been in rehab for 8 days as I type this. I'm unsure of what the future holds for her and my family, but I'm really hoping for the best.

I honestly have no idea what the bills will be looking like down the road for this. We just got the first bill for $600 from the hospital. But the good news is we have found out our medical insurance will cover what we hope to be a large portion of the bill. We are also looking into sueing the other driver for negligence as she never made any attempt to avoid the accident or stop, but I dont feel this is the time and place to dive into that.

How will we use the money you guys have donated to us? As of right now its still sitting in paypal as we have had no real bills as of yet, however my dad is planning to put it in an interest earning account in my sisters name to generate some money on top. But when the first large bill(s) roll around I'm going to have it 100% put towards paying it/them off.

In closing, I'm not sure if I can say anything I havent already said. You guys are fucking awesome, no question. No other community on this earth could do what you guys have done. I seriously hope everyone in this community goes on to great things in life and enjoys every moment of it. What TF2 may lack in size you guys make up for in heart times infinity. Always be proud of playing this game and being in this community because you guys make me prouder than anything to say I'm one of you.

I also personally want to thank you all one last time. You made a real difference in the lives of an entire family, and they will never forget the time that a bunch of strangers on the internet came to their aid when they needed it most.

Insane, I'm kind of sad that I didn't manage to donate but what can you do, none the less, I wish the best of luck to your sister and family.

Great, I was wondering what the situation was like and if there were still donations going in.

By ending the drive, Lange, do you mean just that you stop doing fundraising streams/using the Imraising plugin and such or that the paypal itself will close temporarily? I guess the former, and when we have spare money and don't know what to do with it we can still donate?

Also gg and gj everyone, this is great!

My ImRaising now points to my personal PayPal, as it did before this donation drive.

For those still wishing to donate to Kyle, his PayPal is still accessible: ghos7ayama@hotmail.com

gosh... i remember late at night during the 24-hour donation stream i had run to the atm, blocks away from my house, to fill my paypal with whatever money i had left on my person. It's always amazing to see what this community can do. i hope a speedy recovery to your sister and family! ._o<
