So I recently intsalled grape's hud and I like everything about it except for the main menu background. I created a .vtf file to replace the regular one, but the MainMenuOverride.res file is overriding the file(s). And when I go to the notepad document it's really messy :

If anyone knows how to re-format the document or exactly what I need to delete, i'd be really happy.

Could be something as simple as word wrap. Likely something to do with the formatting.

I suggest using notepad++ as it makes these things a little easier.

Open it in notepad++ and edit the file paths.

Regular notepad messes up the formatting of certain files. Notepad++ doesn't.
