Just recently, maybe in the past 3 days, ive been getting massive frame drops in tf2/cs:go

im not sure what has happened, it is on normal maps, but my game just gets <100 FPS randomly, or sometimes I have 150-300 FPS.

help plz

Make sure you have no background programs running and make sure that no games are trying to update. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful but this is what normally drops my fps. iTunes also drops my frames sometimes. Having irc, iTunes, and mumble open at the same time while trying to play can give me trouble.

It's summer so maybe your computer is running hotter...

Use Hardware monitor to check your temps AS you're playing...Not idle temps...

my fps drops to like 60fps whenever steam goes down (valve really should find a way to fix this, seriously), but other cpu-intensive background programs (like virus scans or updaters) can affect fps as well.
