#38 Official Froyotech i58 Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion
feforSo, uhm.. sorry for silly question but i never donated before so i don't know how these sites work, if i want to donate 2 keys and get an item signed, do i only have to add the 2 keys on the scrap.tf fundraiser link and write on the description which player and item i want to be signed along with my trade offer url? or i need to add everything on that scrap.tf donation link? ( 2keys + item to be signed + gift wrap + writing which player i want it to sign it)

You can just go straight to the scrap.tf fundraiser page and just put the 2 keys. I will reach out to you so we can sort everything out, but provide as much info as you can in the donation message as well. Eventually, you will have to provide the gift wrap and the item. As stated before, we will get as many of these done before i58 as possible, so the sooner the better!

#34 Official Froyotech i58 Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion

If there are any lingering questions out there, please also feel free to post here so I can clear up any confusion for everyone. One topic that I know a lot of people are curious about is a donation tracker, but I think with the structure in place this time around that isn't going to happen. Instead, I'll manually post updates here with milestones to keep everyone on the same page.

h0b5t3rany chance of me getting the perk from the I55 fundraiser before I58?

I will do my best to take care of it, just send me an email at b4nnytv@gmail.com explaining your situation.

WraithTDKSent in a key along with my rocket launcher and gift wrap for b4nny to sign. Trade expired, sent it again. Donations via Mann Co keys won't do any good if trades aren't being accepted.

Keys, and the scrap.tf fundraiser platform, are actually an extremely valuable part of this whole fundraiser, so please do point out any issues you may have with sending them. In your case, I'd like to point out that the same process that I use for my personal weapon signings will be used for the i58 weapon signings, the most important parts being unequipping the item and sending a return trade offer link to accelerate the process. If trade offers aren't accepted it's usually because one of those two things didn't happen. I'll look into it.

#1 Official Froyotech i58 Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion

Off the back of our ESEA S21 Invite championship and having finalized our S22 roster, we are excited to announce that we are planning to attend i58 to defend froyotech’s throne as the TF2 world champions of i52 and i55.

That said, the truth is that not everyone on the team can afford the trip to England out of pocket. However, to me and hopefully all of you, it is more important that our team be there to represent North America and compete. Because of this, I have taken most of the initial financial burden onto myself to guarantee our participation at i58. We are launching a fundraiser to help recoup the costs for the team which include expenses for flights, lodging and PC rentals. Our goal is to raise $6000. (Note: This should be the only major NA fundraiser as Ronin has been generously funded by their sponsor)

Roster
b4nny - twitch.tv/b4nny @4G_b4nny
TLR - www.twitch.tv/tlr6843 @TLR6843
Freestate - twitch.tv/freestate17 @FreestateTF2
Paddie - twitch.tv/paddiebear @paddie__
Muma - twitch.tv/muma @Mumanji
Phorofor - twitch.tv/phorofor_ @phorofor_

Follow us at the links above for TF2 related content and to get to know the team better. In addition to the personal streams above, we will be looking into organizing a showmatch for your viewing pleasure. You probably notice that blaze is no longer our starting roamer, as it turned out he is unable to attend i58 and will be missed. We are welcoming TLR back out of retirement to attend i58 as our starting pocket soldier.

Donation Links
You can donate to the fundraiser through PayPal here: https://imraising.tv/u/b4nny
You can donate to the fundraiser with Mann Co Keys here: https://scrap.tf/fundraiser/FROYOI58.
Every donation will automatically enter you into a raffle to win a gaming mousepad signed by the team, to be raffled after i58.

This time around we wanted to move away from focusing on donation perks so we kept those pretty simple. Instead, we’d would rather you get something tangible in return for supporting us, so we’re offering a bunch of physical merch. Now you can show your support in style by plastering our team colors all over yourself and your surroundings.

Donation Perks
$5 or 2 Keys - Weapon Signing from any member of the team
$20 or 8 Keys - Demo Review/mentoring session from any member of the team

Team Merch
Teespring Storefront: https://teespring.com/stores/froyotech
Froyotech Tshirt
Froyotech Hoodie
I Love You Froyo Tshirt

RedBubble Storefront: http://www.redbubble.com/people/b4nny/collections/557456-froyotech-i58
Froyotech SFM Poster
Froyotech Cares Heart Print
Froyotech Cares Cover Art Print
Froyotech Logo Print
Froyotech Logo Sticker
I Love You Froyo Sticker

(Note: Prints and stickers are fulfilled by RedBubble, while Tshirts and hoodies are fulfilled by Teespring. They will automatically be handling order fulfilment.)

If you would like to order any of the above items using Mann Co Keys, email me at b4nnytv@gmail.com

Finally, if anyone has unfulfilled perks from last year’s i55 fundraiser or any other fundraiser I’ve been a part of, please email me at b4nnytv@gmail.com and I will do what I can to sort that out. In previous years the majority of fundraising and perk fulfillment has fallen on my shoulders, but this year we have everyone on the team on board to contribute to this project. We promise to complete all perks BEFORE i58 happens (unless otherwise specified or another arrangement is made in private).

Thanks so much for reading this. Once again, let’s make i58 the greatest show of competitive TF2 the world has ever seen (and let’s beat those Europeans and Australians).

#35 GXL in LAN Discussion

Sad to see the GXL on hiatus, it was probably the best community LAN we had in TF2. However, it seems the absence of GXL is motivating some people to step up and fill in the void, myself included. I hosted a couple SoCal LANs last year and could look into reviving them if people were interested, just let me know.

DrPloxob4nnyThis is now an AMA thread. I dare you.Do you use this game to vent some emotional issues that you fail to process irl?

Not at all. I am a very emotionally stable person. That being said, TF2 is my main competitive outlet so your perception is very skewed. Yes, I like to win in TF2 and I will try to win in a competitive setting whether its a pug, scrim or match. Outside of that, I am a very easy going person. I met you at GXL and I can almost guarantee that I did nothing to offend you. Spare me from your projections and diagnoses.

TobWith the stream list being implemented to the main menu would you consider hosting other competitive players to help the competitive TF2 twitch community grow?

I'd love to see the TF2 twitch community grow. I think everyone who enjoys TF2 or Twitch should give streaming a shot. The more people playing, streaming, and watching TF2 the better. This is something I learned last year at TwitchCon from listening to panels of some famous Minecraft streamers and content creators. Their game blew up on twitch just by reaching out to the average player and making them aware of the streaming community. As far as hosting, it is definitely a powerful tool, but one I have been very careful using. I have been grateful for some large hosts by big streams like Star or Mang0, so I know just how helpful it can be. Lately I have actually been coordinating hosts with shade and it could potentially lead to more hosts for others in the future.

Smesidon't worry guys he was "drunk" so his actions are justified

I don't use being drunk as an excuse.

TomuAnd people complaining about shit talking eu? EU shit talks NA a lot, just not really publicly. I assume it's the same over there because everyone feels the need to pick a side and be like MY OPINION IS BEST.

I am one of the few top level players who streams often and thus I am constantly under the microscope. Anything said can be taken out of context and turned into an 8+ page thread. I've accepted this and I don't let it stop me from putting myself out there. Generally I will keep things pretty focused on TF2, so the most salacious thing I tend to say is something along the lines of "you are not very good at TF2." To the TFTV community, this apparently crosses every line. However at the same time you have other top invite and prem players that habitually spout bigotry, sometimes even on stream, and they are still embraced by the community. The real difference is that most top level players are extremely secretive and entrenched in their cliques and circlejerks so you never actually see their true colors. I don't know if you remember the MedRed/Ash/Showstopper drama from last year, but all of that erupted because someone finally got a peek at what was really going on in the cesspool that is the 20b/ronin circlejerk. I am more of a loner, and I don't waste my time seeking reinforcement from my closest mates behind closed doors. I am much more open to talking to new people and sharing my honest opinions and thoughts. That's why I stream and will answer any question from curious people. You should all come by some time.

ThreadB4nny what is your favorite sport?

Swimming and badminton are pretty much tied for my favorites. Both very fun and can be a good, rewarding workout.

scrabwhen was the last time you won anything without clockwork?

The last season I played without clockweezy was S15 I believe, we got 2nd. Before that I won S5, S7 and outplaced him S12. We won pretty much every LAN we played together. We make pretty good teammates and I am very thankful to have a player like him on our roster. The truth is he likes winning just as much as I do, so there's no sense in us parting ways even if we aren't the best of friends. The exact same question could be posed to him, and what's his answer? 0 (ignoring that season of IM).

slamBergb4nny i want to attend i58 and compete. What course of actions should i take to achieve my goals?

Honestly, you play on a team with a lot of dead weight. You are one of the few players that can consistently play at a fast pace and catch players like me off guard when you actually try, but the problem is you like to fuck around too much to actually win. Teams with good results > teams with good friends.

catfaceb4nny who are the top 5 eu players currently in your opinion

I don't really follow EU that closely until the few months before an Insomnia LAN, so many of these people might not even play anymore, but I'd say Zebbosai, Ryb, Mirelin, Stark, Mike.

twerpb4nny is it true that kaidus has never shown any "results" in tf2

He has never won an international LAN afaik. I think i-series LANs bring the best out of players under maximum pressure. Doesn't mean he's not good, just means he doesn't deserve to be rated as highly as he has been. Come out of retirement and prove me wrong ;)

sacHow's your cat :3

He's good, just sleeping like a cutie on my soft blankets.

SpaceGhostsCoffeealso, what is your opinion on highlander idiots???

I think Highlander as a gametype, especially for people that main a class that is considered an offclass in the 6s meta, has a lower skill ceiling than 6s TF2. That doesn't mean that HL players are bad, but it does mean they don't have the experience and foresight to deal with 2 bombing soldiers and 2 zombie scouts pushing and hitting every shot against them without a sentry, heavy and pyro to defend them. 6s is a much more DM focused gametype and thus relies much more on the individual skill of each player. It's all relative. Take your "top HL" experience as a sniper to an invite tryout and tell me how that goes. I should never lose to you, it doesn't matter how good you are. I have to be better than you because that's the standard I hold myself to, even if it's wrong. I am a competitor and I believe that every game is winnable. You probably believe the same, but your argument sounds like "fuck this 10 time ESEA invite and 2 time world champion idiot, I'm better than him :'(". Big difference.

ThalashFor example constantly shit talking european players and thus alienating a huge percentage of his viewerbase.

You're trying to paint this as some altruistic perspective just looking out for me and my best interests when its obvious you are personally offended and appealing to the same TFTV bandwagon that blatant bigots like showstopper and ash can make use of to look like heroes in this community. I, as a person making a living as a streamer, must be conscious of both my audience and my personal integrity. However, there's a big difference between calling out irrational idiots and doing what someone like ruwin did to kill his entire fanbase by having a mental breakdown and fighting against a literal truth. Throughout the night I was speaking from a historical and factual point of view and leaving personal attacks out of the picture. The problem is, when you don't win you have nothing but personal attacks. You may have more plus frags, but you can still be wrong my man. Keep in mind that, while completely unintentional, more viewers tuned in as this all unfolded. I am a pretty civil and rational person and I would never blow an issue out of proportion for views, but people seemed to stick around to see me stand up for myself and resist your cool kid attacks.

ThalashI said 120 hrs/2weeks or 60 hours a week, which is the same my man :)

I am lucky enough to have TF2 as both my job and one of my favorite hobbies, so the time invested is always fulfilling and worthwhile. That being said, I have nowhere near 120 hours/week in game. Current stats are ~77 hours/week. I honestly should have more and if I had 120 I would not be ashamed in the slightest.

hobbbesare you going to regret this later?

Nope. I'm a big boy. I will do my thing regardless.

pintoHow does it feel to get cucked by your teammate some seasons ago and still have him on your team

"Cucked" is a hot meme these days isn't it? I was single. I learned from the experience. I can still be a good person even if others make mistakes.

GazAre you shittalking HL because you will never win plat?

My team won UGC platinum this season. Obviously I did not play the UGC grand finals as I decided to prioritize ESEA-I grand finals. I think I made the right choice. I would happily play another season of HL despite having the medal in my backpack.

Varib4nny tried to start an argument with me because he saw the post I made in this thread.

I've mentored you seasons before, reviewed your demos, picked you in pugs, and given you props publicly. Then you came into this thread and did exactly what I called you out for. Very immature. I don't hold grudges so maybe you'll change your mind some day. I'll be here.

TomHe creates a bubble of people who are only positive about him anyone who critiques in any form gets banned. When he leaves the bubble of his stream and realises he isn't loved by everyone he gets upset. You cant ban people from talking to/about you everywhere b4nny I suggest you learn this.

Very biased. Once again, I am a reasonable person. I like to experiment with different approaches to moderation on my stream as anyone who takes their job seriously should do. You and your buddy were banned a long time ago and since have been unbanned yet you still hold a grudge. Come back to my stream and you'll realize I hold no grudges.

Wholegrainif you want a true, unbiased opinion of banny, look no further than this twitch user.

Honestly, if someone reacts like that I say good riddance. A random person does not always represent you, me, or the average TF2 player.

#131 We need to talk about the booties in TF2 General Discussion

The main points being continuously overlooked in this thread are:
1. If one team runs it, the other must run it (flashbacks to Quick-Fix LAN) especially to middles.
2. It rewards you for doing what you were already doing so does not introduce anything interesting into the game. Wee Booties demos don't play a different style, they're just a dumbed down, tankier, and more slippery version of what they were before.

The item should be nerfed to the point where the decision to run booties is more stylistic rather than mandatory (such as pistol vs winger). In my opinion, this would be as simple as removing the speed boost, because then the survivability of demomen running it would depend more on good movement, sticky placement, positioning and anticipation rather than just running/jumping away. Unfortunately we don't have much control over whether a weapon gets nerfed, so banning it is probably the best choice for now.
