Notes from the ESA Project Manager of Events Wade Radomske (@ESA_Wade):

Wade
  • One of my big goals with the event is to make it feel like 1 event as opposed to 3 different ones on the same day. So I really hope that each of the communities involved (TF2, H:CE, and SR) take the time to look at some of the other games and see what they have to offer. When I selected the 3 games for this event I really tried to find some that have some common features (aside from being timeless competitive classics) so that we get some integration between the communities. I believe that for these games to continue to maintain their presence in a Esports climate dominated by the New, they need to bring in new players, or at least new spectators/fans. So I implore you all to at least look into each of the other games a little bit, and see if it doesn't look interesting to you at all!
  • If you're going to be attending, there will definitely be opportunities to try all the games, and potentially learn from the best players each has to offer.

We have been hard at work to make this event as big as it deserves to be. Our top priorities are to obtain more funding for the prize pool, and to secure top talent for production, hosting, casting, analysis and more (we have many leads and interest, just need details to be finalized). As before, if you know of any sponsors you think may be interested, please contact B4nny (b4nnytv@gmail.com) or samiface (https://steamcommunity.com/id/samiface/).

#25 Big news for the ESA lan in TF2 General Discussion

I thought people knew this already, it's certainly one of the main draws and we have not tried to cover it up in any way. But, still it is great and I'm glad people are excited about it.

#36 Thorin asking about spectating TF2. in TF2 General Discussion

Apparently he is cohosting a new Overwatch focused podcast, starting tonight https://twitter.com/MonteCristo/status/787524345287483392. My guess is he will be criticizing the spectator experience in OW and discussing ways to improve it maybe with some insight from the way it was done in TF2.

#135 Official Froyotech i58 Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion

Hey guys, I just sent out emails to everyone who has donated to the ImRaising side of the campaign so look out for those to set up the arrangement of your perk fulfillment. We will be ending the fundraiser on 8/24 so if you're still hoping to pickup some stickers, posters, weapon signings or mentoring now is the time! I will collect all the info from Scrap.TF on 8/24 as well which is when I will contact everyone who contributed keys to the fundraiser. Europe is just a few days away!

#131 Official Froyotech i58 Fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion

Time for another update. We have now raised $3000 towards our i58 fundraiser! We just wrapped up the T-shirt and hoodie campaigns which went great with over 100 items sold. That part of the campaign covered over 1/4 of the entire fundraiser! I hope everyone who ordered their apparel really enjoys them and wears them proudly during i58. You can still get team merch in the form of stickers and posters on our Redbubble page. Donations are also still open on the ImRaising page as well as through Scrap.TF. As a reminder we will be ending our fundraiser on 8/24 so if you'd like to contribute and claim some merch or perks, now is the time! Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far. We hope to do you proud as the sole NA representative at i58.

#11 cp_cardinal (5CP) in Map Discussion

As Phi mentioned in the OP, this map is a collaboration between her and myself. I have been extremely impressed with both cp_sunshine and cp_reckoner so when phi was the one to answer my pleas to work closely with a mapper to build the next great 5cp map I couldn't have been happier. I was once again blown away at how she was able to turn my messy sketches and vague ramblings into the beautiful map we have have today. And it's only going to get better.

Our goal with this map is to develop it to the point that it plays up to the standards you would expect from any other classic 5CP map. Eventually, having the map be league-ready, maybe even official ready would be a dream come true. In this partnership Phi is gonna be the map making mastermind and I will be handling a lot of the extra stuff like contributing the initial layout, promoting the map, organizing and running playtests and offering my competitive insights. Of course, we will need feedback from everyone in the community so please leave any and all feedback here.

I will be running regular playtests which I'll be coordinating on my stream, the first of which will be tonight. See you there.

SnazThe donated $ total hang been updated in a few days, is it possible to get an update on donations?

Our current total raised is about $2000 across all platforms, so things are going pretty well so far.
We will be ending the fundraiser on 8/24, though, so that gives us about 3 weeks to raise the remaining funds.
Currently looking to organize a showmatch to help promote our fundraiser as well.

ManangerIf I donate 4 keys can I get two items signed by two players?, ty.

Yep, every 2 keys donated can get you a different signed item by any player of the team.

georgebaiiAre Froyo shirts available only for before/during i58 or will they be available all the time?

The Froyo shirts and hoodies are only available during this short fundraiser campaign, and there are actually only 6 days left to order one. They are still the best way to contribute to the campaign, so please get yours now! And if you want to buy them with Mann Co Keys, send me the email ASAP so we can take care of it.

ErraticAlso, how do we receive perks if we donated through scrap.tf? Are they going to be taken care of in the near future?

We will collect the list of donators from scrap.tf on the day we stop accepting donations, 8/24. Then we will be contacting everyone on the list to get their perks fulfilled. It might take a little bit longer to tie up every loose end, but everyone should have an email or friend request from me sorting things out before we leave for i58.

And a big thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. The i58 hype is building!

BlehI apologize if this question was answered earlier but if I purchase a Froyotech hoodie, does that entitle me to donation benefits like weapon signatures and a demo review or is that a separate donation i have to make? I'm most likely going to buy a hoodie either way but was wondering this.

The merch and donations are separate, unfortunately. Part of the goal with offering merch was that it would serve as its own sort of perk to supporting the team. Hope you like your froyohoodie!

And an update for all: We have raised $1000 across all platforms now! Huge thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. The donations and merch orders have been coming in steadily which is awesome. If we keep up this pace we will certainly meet the goal. We have about 16 days left in the teespring campaigns so get your froyotees and hoodies while you still can!

Konceptb4nny To clarify, just put the keys in on scrap.tf, the wrap and items will come in to play later when we reach out to you with all the trade offer information. If I would like to put 6 keys in total (to have 3 items signed by 3 separate froyo members) to the fundraiser, should I do 3 separate 2 key donations or just 1 single donation with all of the keys? Judging from your answer it seems like putting all 6 in is what's better but I'd just like to make sure that's what should be done

Either way works since your total amount of keys is accumulated, which allows you to increase your amount later should you choose to. Still, putting them all in at once is probably most convenient for you.

HellbentIs there a place to see the total amount donated? Also do you really want $6000? The aussie thread has been up for like a month now and only has $5300.

I will manually update the donation page to reflect our current total, as well as post milestones here, and yes our goal is $6000. As of now we've raised $445, plus the merch sales of about $100, which is great, so thanks to everyone who has contributed so far! This weekend we will start the first round of perk fulfillment so all contributors should keep their eyes out for an email from me about this.

For anyone out there wondering what the best way to contribute to this campaign would be, I would highly encourage you to just grab the Froyotee, as only a few hundred sales of that shirt would entirely cover the fundraiser. Plus its comfortable and stylish and only available for a limited time. Tell your friends, too!

Paladin_IMSare you supposed to send your gift wrap and weapon in the scrap.tf donation? was just going to send two keys because thats all scrap.tf said I had, but then I canceled the trade offer and now it's stuck at "Info: Your most recent donation is currently being processed..." even though i didnt even donate anything. i can't resend the trade either because scrap.tf isn't seeing my keys.

edit: had to sell and rebuy two new keys just to get them accepted.

Hey, sorry to hear about your troubles with donating, I hope that everything is working now. To clarify, just put the keys in on scrap.tf, the wrap and items will come in to play later when we reach out to you with all the trade offer information.
