#471 Valve and Competitive TF2 in News
TwitchComangliaWould be interested in seeing 7vs7 or 8vs8 being picked up by Valve, but tbh I have no fucking clue.
we used to have 7v7 with two demos...it was... horrifying

then again that was the old old demo with indestructible stickies, i suppose it could potentially work better post-nerf but the thought still terrifies me

Or you know keep a class limit of 1 on demos, medics, and heavies just like 6v6 and HL already have?

I love speculation, and honestly both HL and 6vs6 have a lot of issues if they're going to be just thrown into MM.

HL, a lot of pubbers really don't want to be stuck to just 1 class, and trying to keep 18 people playing a full match could be a pain with a bunch of random people some who may/may not be fucking around.

6vs6, has a standard meta that isn't going to be immediately picked up on by pubbers, and if this is ranked (it likely will be) people at lower ranks will likely have the shittiest time imaginable with medics going engineer or heavy or some bs.
Plus 6vs6 is basically just 5CP with some KotH. I'm sure a lot of people would want to play PL and A/D

Would be interested in seeing 7vs7 or 8vs8 being picked up by Valve, but tbh I have no fucking clue.

-edit-
obviously certain classes would need limits of 1 like demo, medic, heavy and the rest probably capped to 2

#14 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread v2 in Hardware
zigzterYeah I just tested it out. If I swipe fast it tends to go halfway, then jumps my aim upwards.

I'm assuming changing DPI won't do anything? (Currently using 1150)
If it's a serious issue, are there any good mice with high tracking speeds?

g402 has the highest atm (roughly 10m/s)

g502 and g303 or also high 5 to 7 m/s region depending on DPI

Zowie FK1 does over 5 m/s

#12 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread v2 in Hardware
dippidyzigzterDoes anyone with the EC1 Evo have issues with the mouse fucking up if you swipe fast? I fuck up a lot of rocket jumps when I swipe to aim the RJ rocket and the mouse spazzes. I'm not sure if I might actually be lifting the mouse up a little and it's just the LoD being really low, or if it's something else.

I'm using the Artisan Hayate (pure black), but I'm pretty sure it happened on my QcK+ as well.

Yep, that's a problem with 3090 mice in general since they don't have very high max tracking speed. I get the problem with EC1, ninox, and my AM.

Keep in mind the mousepad you use also effects your Max tracking speed and LOD.

For a general idea of a good mouse pad that'll give you good max tracking speeds.
1. Solid black, or a pattern similar to the puretrack talent is also good for some mice
2. The mousepad has a small amount of resistance to it, idk how to explain it but mouse pads that feel really smooth if they're cloth tend to have bad max tracking speeds.
3. If you want a hard pad make sure you use a texturized one.

+ Some DPI levels on a mouse get different Max tracking speeds, most sensors do best on lower DPIs

-edit-
Also if you're experiencing that issue on Artisan and QCK mouse pads odds you're very easily hitting your max tracking speed, and may want to raise your sensitivity or get a new mouse.

I feel like the argument demarini and other are having right now is pretty moot cause an announcement like this will make TF2 numbers explode. Will it stay, drop off, or continue to grow after that? Depends on what valve does.

I think it's safe to assume though TF2 as we know it is not going to be the same in the very very near future.

#108 What game would you play comp other than tf2? in Other Games

After having tried other FPSs I'd probably go back to what I did before. Which was play in Total War and Company of Heroes Tournaments.

Is there going to be a way to report hackers that'll actually do something? Cause with MM and possible ranks to it the number of hackers in TF2 is going to sky rocket.

Also still fucking hyped

#14 Interest in a mouse info/player profile website? in Off Topic
CondoMForsak3nkounterpartsrock-the thing is people should stop copying "pro gamers" they should stop buying a mouse only because a pro gamer uses it, and this doesn't goes only for mice, if you want to create something that regroups every info about best mice, i believe would be a good idea, but please, don't talk about pro gamers https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZzbKDmFOqsP_ut2RdctD01OEbZzbXol6HLwqVkSmZcg/edit?usp=docslist_api god tieroutdated, there are lots of new good mouses.Yup, and tons of contradictions and misinformed facts

Can confirm

G400 has the wrong sensor in that list, weighs 104g : Max tracking speed I have for it is about 4.2m/s on a QCK Heavy
G400s weighs 109g, and doesn't have the SROM smoothing at 400/800 DPI : Max tracking is about 4.7m/s on a QCK Heavy
Zowie FK 2300 DPI has jitter, 500Hz works best, and 450 dpi does feel weird so maybe added lag not sure though

the max speed testing of all those mice is fucking stupid as they use different mouse pads ranging from cloth to plastic to aluminum i.e. most mice are tested on a random surface and their's no uniformity whatsoever in the testing.
^same thing as this except with the LOD testing

#2 Freezing and Timing out v2 in Customization
HaXorAfter having my initial question about sniper zoom sensitivity answered in this thread: http://teamfortress.tv/thread/24546/freezing-and-timing-out i am experiencing freezing, stuttering, sound-looping and after some time i time out in both TF2 and CS:GO, leading me to believe this is a source-engine related problem. I would really appreciate some help in this matter, as if it is resolved, it could help many other players with similar issues.
I have tried reinstalling steam, reinstalling tf2, running tf2 without scripts / mods, unblocking all possible tf2 ports on my router, uninstalling my antivirus and antimalware (in safe mode with internet unplugged ofc) and verifying game cache (on both tf2 and cs:go). I would appreciate some advice on the issue at hand.

Thank you,
TeaX

Are you using any Graphics configs for either TF2 or CSGO?

What kind of PC specs do you have?

Have you tried reinstalling either or both games?

Are your games installed on a HDD or a SSD?

BenroadsFew things I've noticed looking over the map

Still kinda unsure why these are solid, I guess you could use it to jump off the wall but seems pretty strange since there's like 1 other window thing you can stand on and the rest are decorative.

PLS NO.... I've gotten so many good picks from that completely idiotic sniper sightline that basically everyone overlooks...

Also a nifty spy spot

#2 Valve to introduce "Paid Mods" in Off Topic

Great! more things to waste money on...

Honestly I get the "pay what you want option" a little, but charging for mods is really dumb, and could lead to all kinds of DMCA issues if someone decides they want to add shit like this...
