A friend of mine went to Valve HQ and they showed him their WIP implementation of Oculus Rift support for TF2. Pretty cool.

Good point.
An owl playing with this headset would be nigh unstoppable.

renxzenSeems great. But is it 120hz?
No, at least not the developer version. It uses a 7" 1280x800 panel upon which is rendered separate viewpoints for each eye (ie 640x800 Left and Right) giving an effective field of view of 90x110 degrees.
I'll try to livestream/facecam some TF2 6v6 with this when mine arrives.

Being a bit older I still remember seeing the advertisements for the virtual boy and our local wal-mart even had one, for months.
Hopefully this will turn out better :D But yeah, motion sensing head movement for rocket jumping and air strafing could be crazy, not to mention ultra-high sens users getting motion sickness with mouse look lol.

Just wait for the commercial releassssse
surely you can contain your raucous boners with $300 on the line. It'll be a much better product by then anyway.

LKincheloeThey broke huds... AGAIN
No, they did not. Requiring a reinstall is hardly breaking anything; it's just an annoyance caused by how Steam handles local files.

Did anyone kickstart this? You could have pledged any amount and you would receive a code to get the TF2VRH in-game. Sadly, the kickstarter has been over and funded since September 1st of last year. Man I wish I knew about it before.

You can still do it between now and April 1.

I bet they doubled their number of orders today. Which isn't really a good thing to be honest. People buying it because of the TF2 link should be waiting for the consumer model.

I knew you could pay the $300 for the Developer Kit, but I don't want to spend the money on the kit. I probably would have thrown around $20 towards it. Guess I'll wait for the consumer model.
