I had the same problem last season. I ended up factory reseting my computer and it worked for some reason.

Hello,
Since you are not receiving any specific ESEA client error, I cannot be sure what exactly your issue is. As such I am going to offer you a blanket of suggestions in hopes that one of them works for you.
- Make sure you are using a Windows administrator user account. Just running the client as admin will not work.
- You can try starting Steam as admin.
- Sometimes when we see this take place it is because either a specific game setting, custom config or simply a corrupt file can cause the game exe and the ESEA Client exe to no longer function properly.
In order to eliminate the specific game itself from being the culprit what I want you to do is delete the entire game folder which should be located at c:/program files/steam/steamapps/common. It is imperative that it is done this way, and that you do not just delete the local content from the steam application.
After that is done, right click on your game in your Steam games library and delete the local content (if it is still present). If it is not, reinstall the game and join an ESEA server.
- These days the amount of security software available is overwhelming and unfortunately, most of them simply do not put in the effort to make sure that what they are deeming a threat, truly is one. Simply based on how the ESEA client operates many security programs will flag our client as such a threat.
In order for us to determine without a doubt that a security program (normally anti-virus software) is not interfering with the ESEA client, we will need you to fully uninstall the security programs that you have on your computer (temporarily of course). Sometimes when you add an exception for the ESEA client or have just disabled the software it can still cause an issue just from being on your computer so this step must be completed to the fullest of your ability.
As soon as you have uninstalled all of the security programs, proceed to once again uninstall the ESEA client, download and then install a fresh copy of the ESEA client with zero security software installed this time.

^ this is like three hours of work to fix something that is probably esea's fault anyway
bereth had this happen last night for over an hour last night, fixed it by removing his custom folder
