Another org dropping a team right before LAN. Disappointing to say the least...

Nerdrage dropped us because of our poor results, which isnt a shock at all considering maintaining a high level of performance was one of the prequisite to stay within the org. Unfortunatly our roster shuffles werent as good as we'd have hoped.
Tbh we were considering leaving the org after the last week of Season 27, so by no means this puts us in a difficult situation or whatsoever. We werent attending i61 anyway, with or without nerdrage, thus no plans are currently postponed or cancelled.

This has been a interesting experience anyway, I don't think any of us regret that we joined nerdrage in the middle of S26.

Idk if the org plans to stay in the scene with another team or no, and at this point my guess is as good as yours.

We got a cool shirt out of it, and maybe a bit of exposure, so that's really fine by me. Now we can go back to the good old top5 and hopefully start to in again :)

Lets be fair Orgs in tf2 are complete jokes in TF2 and offer nothing unless you lack clothing to wear at home.

I find it funny people are so worked up over a tiny org that only offered a Tshirt worth about 10 euros per person whilst asking their team to all tag up and change their avatars and team page to their branding. Other week someone approached us on behalf of an org and I asked what they offering and they said "A tshirt" and I laughed and politely declined.

Maybe it is different in ESEA where orgs pay league fees but in Europe whats the point of them? I got better perks in Div 6 from a community org ran by some Uni student (a free server and good banter). They give this community nothing and people shed a tear when they go? And backcap covers it like its a big deal? Lol. Bigger things make this game go round.

Top5 is a better name anyway, best of luck Ombrack and Le Boys.

I don't understand all the rage behind this post especially if it stems from nR dropping top5. I mean it's totally within their right to drop a team due to poor performance? Atleast they care about their name and who represents them. Furthermore, I dont know whats expected from an org when it comes to TF2 considering the position the game is at its not reasonable to ask them to fund for LAN so why not get a cool t-shirt? memories etc...
Calling them a complete joke is a bit unfair imo and I dont think anyone got particularly worked up about nR dropping the team.

You miss the point so badly I don't see it worth explaining to you but I am well versed in wasting my time.

Organisations like Nerdrage don't give a fuck about TF2 and "sponsor us" because it costs them next to nothing to do so, half a chance their meetings about whether to engage in TF2 are based on if they ordered 6 too many T-shirts. The tiny amount of exposure Nerdage give this game is laughable so their loss shouldn't be mourned with an article on TFTV or a mention in Backcap or even this forum thread.

I shed a tear when Admirable went to Overwatch because his loss to European TF2 is actually worth a 1 hour video and a long article, but he gets neither. People who give to this community are undervalued far too much and substituted for some organisation that doesn't give a fuck about this game.

I find it laughable you think having an organisation want their team to be successful means anything when the point of an organisation / sponsorship in the real world is to financially subsidize amateurs to help them improve their performance. Football teams get sponsors to invest in improving their training conditions or pay for bigger salaries to attract better players to the club. I mentioned in Div 6 getting better perks from some University Student because my Div 6 team didn't have a server and this guy gave us a server and some other stuff that wasn't as important as a server which enabled us to practise more often and do tactics sessions and so forth to improve our team, so their organisation, though it was a bunch of Scottish students attempting to make a gaming community which died when they got bored and moved on with their lives gave way more than any of these major organisations have ever done.

If an organisation wants to have me shed a tear for it, it should put money where it's mouth is. Maybe if Nerdrage supported their TF2 team by offering them incentives to go to LAN they might put extra time to improve their results? I can't speak for their team, but if a team is offering me free travel to compete at a LAN I might actually put more effort practising than I normally do. Give the team some peripherals that they might actually need? I know if an Org came to me and said "we'll get you a new Monitor and Graphics card cos yours is shit" I would jump at the opportunity. I am not saying this is the reason why they haven't done well or not, I just find it amusing they can sit there and say "dropping you cos of bad results" but don't offer anything (ie the purpose of a sponsor / organisation) to support their players?

Nope, they offer you some cheap shirts and in return you get to promote their brand to TF2 players who may decide to care about their OW of CS:GO team cos they say their name in TF2. Amazing perks!

So yeah they are a joke to me, getting involved in this game because they're not serious about it and I don't blame them for not being serious about it, but we shouldn't be serious about them and give them some special status.

Nerdrage (and similar orgs), always intended to back their players to big LANs (relative to TF2) provided they compete at a top level. Clueless post.

nR always proposed to back us up for lans. For GA, they asked if they should put some money into it (not much obviously, but still), and we said no because we were fine on our own. Hence only the shirts.

For i61, had we attended and had we been good enough, they would have given money for transport, and would have get us pcs at the venue. Even though it's nowhere near to be a costless lan for us, they would have supported a part of it. Unfortunatly we didnt meet the expectations, but I think it's pretty safe to say that nR back their players when it comes to lan.

I turned down 3 sponsors while leading tf2 teams in ESEA a couple of which would've paid our fees, I never understood why people would get rid of their personal branding for such minor benefits, especially for etf2l where there is no money unless you want to go to LAN.

If that's true I take back my point about nR but it still doesn't take back my point about orgs in general.

Where did all this aggression come from? In no way did I speak down to you or in a demeaning way I expect the same back in the least. The biggest tear from this is coming from you with the two aggressive long posts. If I missed your point then I apologise but I still disagree in calling them complete jokes, it's just rude.
Plus nR or the team haven't asked for you to shed a tear over it or anyone else, they didn't even bring it up themselves.
My point being: If an org is willing to "sponsor" regardless of putting in help monetarily a free jersey for the memory is great IMO just for putting up a name.
Either way I get what you're saying and coming from.
