Hey,

I've taken part in a few of the NA Newbie Mixes and it was suggested that I post here.

I'm looking to join a team as a scout - I don't mind whether it's passive/flank.

I'm an older player (29) and work during the day. Canadian (Ontario). Very calm and focused on improving. I've been strategic with my gameplay the last few months, focusing on various aspects of my game.

I have about 500 hours on TF2 - none of this spent idle (I play a combination of casual, MGE, and jump servers). Playing TF2 in random pubs has become a little boring and I'm hoping to find something more interesting and difficult. To be completely honest I'd rather get my ass kicked playing against players much better than I am than screwing around in pubs.

If you're looking for an old guy, let me know. If you have any questions for me, feel free. As mentioned, I'm new here and so I'm probably forgetting some important bit of info.

NUTSHELL
- Canadian (Ontario) - 29 years old
- ~500 hours in TF2
- New to competitive
- Calm and level headed
- Experience in NA Newbie mixes, Faceit, MixChamp
- Looking to play scout, but I do enjoy Medic (though I have less experience with med)

Newbie Mixes do a team drive for Open before each season, I think. Sign up for those as soon as you see an announcement.

Erratic's suggestion is a good one but don't let that stop you from looking for a team the old fashioned way first because then you will get to choose your teammates if you find a team that likes you.

Thank you both for the responses - I'll be sure to look out for that post as well.

I'm happy to play with anyone who may be interested in a scout but wants to make sure I don't suck. Feel free to add me to steam - to make it easy: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198202933340/

Even if a team needs a sub or something for a match, let me know..

Just bumping this - my apologies if this is against any posting rules/etiquette (I haven't seen anything that states this).

Please touch base if you're looking for someone - I'm happy to try out.

The general rule of thumb for bumping lft posts is if the last post in the thread is more than a day old and the thread is no longer on the front page. So you are good.

I don't know pinky but someone pick him up based on his forum etiquette alone.

Hahaha - thank you.

Honestly, I don't really know anyone who plays comp and that's part of the problem. I've checked out champ.gg but haven't played anything there because of a lack of players queued up.

Any advice on other avenues for me to get to know folks and start to build a reputation?
