Is it possible to change dx level when changing classes? I'd like to have dx9 when sniping and dx8 on all others. Is this even possible?

You can change it with mat_dxlevel, but it's quite inconsistent from my experience (could cause crashes).

you can change the reflectivity and detail of dx9 a lot with config settings and have that be class specific
but yeah as others have said, dx level is a launch option which requires a restart to change
