Hey guys, I am need of volunteers for testing the TF2 mod. We need about 10 people. Preferably in the NA region unless you don't mind a bit of latency.

Trying to test here in a couple minutes. Need 1 more person.
Testing completed, thank you all that helped. We are looking into why the ready menu is not working as intended and requiring the use of .forceready every match.

Will by entering my team when Freestate comes online. Really should quit waiting til last minute.
For real though, this needs to be posted as an event or something. Kinda pitiful that we think tf2 is a real game and we can't even fill a 16 team bracket.
2 small weekly tournaments, ran better than esea, with amazing support (holy shit Dilusive you're great). Are people not playing because they don't know about it or what? I don't get it.

its a mix between, everyones afraid of getting rolled by invite rosters, so theres almost no point, and 2, people forget when they start/dont know they exist

Man, this "I'll play it if you will" type of attitude in the lower tiers is kind of irritating. Honestly, I don't know how that could be fixed though.

CaspianRazer has plans for larger tournaments but without decent participation in smaller weekly events it won't happen.
Basically sign-up for the FREE weekly tournaments unless you want to prove that comp TF2 can't even fill a 16 team bracket. Rosters restrictions are relaxed (ie you can add players at almost anytime to your roster) and entry is free. I don't even actively play anymore but I still signed up for the dates I could play.
Razer has run 10 tournaments so far for TF2 and done so for both EU and NA.
$100 x 10 tournaments x 2 regions = $2000
Sign-up a pug team or get ringers and fill up the tournaments. If the bracket is full you're less likely to run into the 2-3 im/invite pug teams.
Razer Arena has good server quality, esea style server plugins, and excellent admin support (Dillusive owns). Matches start fairly quickly and there's less downtime between matches.
I have no idea why there is not event on the side bar, Regardless I know everyone in open schedules scrims now, If a team you scrim is not signing up send them a message and let them know they are happening. I messaged every team leader i know for the ones 2 weeks ago and we got 9 signs ups. really a shame they all did not keep signing up but its well worth the effort.

will be signing up for my 3rd tournament when we get 6. These things are great and run pretty smooth please show support and sign up!
Are the times listed on the Schedule and Matches tab EST or is it according to your time zone?
According to your timezone.
Also these really need to be supported officially by TFTV by being in the events sidebar/announced. It would be a shame if we fail to jump on board something that is without a doubt healthy for the growth of the game and then it's long gone before the majority of us realize that.

I'M STILL LOOKING FOR A TEAM TOMMORROW I THINK
ANY CLASS, LETS GO
EDIT: TOO LATE I FOUND ONE

According to what tsc told me, the event needs to be covered by an organization to be put up on the upcoming events sidebar. So unless EVL or someone provides coverage I guess we can't have them there. :\
It would be great if the brackets could be adjusted to allow for the extra signups. Currently in Round 2 the matchups are:
#1 vs #3
#5 vs #7
#2 vs #4
#6 vs #8
Which sort of ruins the semi-finals since 2 of the top 4 seeds are knocked out before then. A more sensible matchup list would be:
#1 vs #8
#2 vs #7
#3 vs #6
#4 vs #5
It wasn't a huge problem when there were <8 teams but if the signups continue to increase it will be a problem

can you remove class limits from the config? it's standard to keep them off for non-lobby games

I had no idea when these were and that they were so low commitment. Now that I know they're free to enter and that they only last one day, I'm interested.
We certainly need better advertising for them on tftv. If not on the sidebar, then maybe on the front page?
If anything, this is the kind of thing worthy of an exception.

also, i dont understand why that it not getting coverage would change that, it is extremely beneficial to the community, I don't see how putting on the sidebar would kill the sites credibility. I just don't see where people against it on the sidebar are coming from.

Honestly I see no reason to remove the class limits. If they are expected in the format why not just enforce it config side rather than relying on everyone to adhere to it?

There are 8 each planned for Sunday and Wednesday. This coming Sunday will be 7 of 8 and next Wednesday will be 7 of 8.
Will be looking at extending these if at all possible.

You can be on multiple rosters at once.
Also, these tournaments are at awkward times. That's why my roster is huge
