it isn't just skinned weapons that drop

if you roll out with a grenade launcher but kill someone who drops a loch, you can pick up the loch and continue

what isn't yet known is how ammo carries over to this - we don't know if the weapon you pick up has the same ammo it did on the other player, like in csgo, or if it'll eat out of your original pool without contributing its own (which is more likely)

however the shortstop ammo change might actually be because of this new modularity, meaning that weapons do carry their own ammo

which then leads to the question about ubers and other statuses

I feel a bit uneasy about ammo carrying over tho, that feels like it could be kinda crazy, and i REALLY hope ubercharge doesn't transfer

Also If ammo does carry away from weapon to weapon does this mean that for example a demoman could suicide at a spot to drop his weapon and when he respawns he'd have two fully loaded grenade launchers at his disposition?

I think spending the 6 dollars for that thing is good becouse a part should go to map devs and maybe valve even realises that tf2 has a big profit potential.

Have your soldier damage themselves then switch to the Escape Plan. The medic heals the damage really slowly but still builds uber at the same rate so the soldier doesn't have to waste extra rockets to stay below 90ish percent hp.

I'm imagining the fps hit from unusual weapons and people dropping double the amount of debris when they die and it's not going to be pretty.

Also I see auto reload blowing some pub players minds. That's a great change though.

Well luckely you can turn unusual effects off with a vpk, and if you also run the game in dx81 no skins for you too ;)

I love the fact that they're trying to balance all useless and OP weapons!
Just as b4nny said couple minutes ago, even the picture listed above all the changes is a metaphor for balancing weapons.

Update page was the first thing I saw when I woke up and I thought I was still in some kind of heat-induced fever dream but regardless:

I tentatively like every single balance change except for the Black Box (seriously what.) and not being able to knock around ammo anymore (if that is the case as expected)

Really not sure about the Quickiebomb, that shit was good already, but having long-range sticky sniping back in some form is cool and makes it insane with Kritz

GET FUCKED LOCH-N-LOAD AND CABER HAHAHAHAHAHAH- *cough* anyway

Yeah this is a pretty huge and pretty legit update, things might need some tweaking but if Valve is willing to make and release an update of this magnitude in the first place they'll definitely be willing to respond to community feedback and tweak things (like reverting the Black Box because seriously what the fuck volvo)

(also get fucked Baby Face's Blaster hahahahahaha)

i'm not even halfway through the list and i've already seen so many cool changes :-)

+1 to valve. there are a lot of practical changes (in stead of based on theories they came up with themselves), obviously based on feedback of the community too.

can't wait to check this out later

I like the weapon pickup mechanic! It adds some new variability whilst still remaining predictable - you know what weapon you dropped, so you can factor that in to your game awareness.

Although I feel like picking up weapons is primarily a shop window for the skins :D

In CS:GO you can spend a lot of time dead and allowing you to drool over other people's sick skins, but in TF2 that time is much shorter. So allowing you to test drive it might induce you to purchase the missions.

Hate to be a medic now, roamers are gonna be crazy if liberty launcher is legal, directs still do over 85 damage up close. Add shotty and it's lights out, all day.

I can't believe the professional killstreak liberty launcher that I crafted wasn't a terrible life decision!

Picking up weapons could be really cool, or really broken, depending on how they implement it. Medics switching from kritz to uber sounds crazy good. Bombing a combo as roamer, killing the pocket, picking up his shotgun to kill the medic before switching back to gunboats to escape sounds fucking baller though.
