http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_shipping_option-_0?fst=as%3Aoff&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3A40+inch+4k%2Cp_n_shipping_option-bin%3A3242350011&keywords=40+inch+4k&ie=UTF8&qid=1430327400&rnid=2944662011.
So recently ive been thinking about ordering a tv on amazon and i found this one with 50% discount. Im generally clueless about some specifications, maybe some of you could have a little more experience on the topic. Is 4k worth it? Ill be using mostly to watch movies and play games. Thanks

What I can assume (based on my tv) is that the only time you utilize the 4k is if what you are watching and/or playing can get up to the 4k quality. I do not have a 4k tv, however my tv has HD capabilities but some things that i watch aren't able to reach that quality.

Like I said, that's just an assumption. I would almost say talk to someone at a store that has the same tv or something like it and ask them the questions.

Until 4k movies are being actively distributed it's not worth it imo

Here is a graph of viewing distance to screen size and where different resolutions start to become noticeable.

Unless you are in the area where 4k matters, there is literally no point to getting such a device even if it is 100% supported.

actually if you use a blue-ray dvd player and watch blue-ray movies within a 2 foot radius of the tv, then it will be the best picture you've seen, but if that isn't the case then you should probably not get that high of a quality
