i haven't seen the chat, but as long as people aren't spamming links or anything racist it's probably best to let people have their fun with emotes and ascii

I have dual monitors, and the second has the stream chat and is within my peripheral vision. I was casting and saw a platinum face out of the corner of my eye, and lost it.

Is there a reason for the change in the HUD when it comes to the TeamFortress.TV stream ? It used to be so much better, and as of lately it's become the same as what VanillaTV used to be. There is a big decrease in quality in my personal opinion, and there was nothing wrong with the other one that would need a switch anyway. I never saw any discussion on it so there might be a reason for it and i just don't know.

Yeah, but it's still the same HUD. Looking at the past few VODs on the TeamFortress.tv channel on youtube it's the same. I just don't understand the reason for the drastic change when the quality is so far worse.

Watching the stream on my 51'Inch plasma on the living room with some snacks, couldn't of had asked for a better weekend, though the matches so far have been a little bit boring. Can't wait for IT vs Mixup

Firstly, the HUD is probably objectively better. Roboto has better legibility at smaller sizes on screens (it was designed by Google for Android smartphones) than Futura. The font sizes are consistent throughout the tournament spectator player panels, and the health background makes it easier to discern the health of either team at a glance.

Secondly, using a custom HUD helps reinforce the identity of the casting organization. You can tell it's VanillaTV/European TF2 by their (incredible) HUD, and now you can tell it's TeamfortressTV/NA TF2 by theirs.

Next match isn't starting until the current cs match is over due to some issue with stv. So yeah.

Eric, i am not completely sure if you actually understood what i meant. Obviously a custom HUD was being used currently, and was being used before as well (same for GreaverTV or VanillaTV), that's not what i was meaning.
