Do you really think that the target audience of deus ex wants a phone game?

The original Deus Ex was arguably the greatest game of all time. Human Revolution was a highly flawed and uneven, but ultimately enjoyable sequel (although I didn't beat the game because it got really lame toward the end).

I was expecting that it would be all downhill from there, but still a tablet game really is a slap to the face. I love how the developers are acting like this game is a labor of love and not a cynical cash grab.

Did you pay attention to the video? The interface is dynamic and there are multiple paradigms to input what you want to do (incl. the targeted/locked on one and doing it manually). It's also shown off as a cover based shooter just like DX:HR obviously designed. I really don't see the problem.

I think they Square Enix is testing the water with a well known game franchise. Nothing wrong with it and if it makes the franchise even more popular, maybe we'll see another release for PC/consoles.

- Casuals
- The newly 17-25 majority clinging onto the newest fad of "Gamer Culture"
- The intense hardon developers and programmers have for the mobile platform despite it lacking the power needed for actual video games that aren't handheld emulators

So I wasn't the only one.

The original Deus Ex is what got me into PC gaming heavily. I played the shit out of DXMP. (A lot of people didn't even know it existed, as it was part of the GOTY edition and you had to go through hoops to get everything to work)

While this isn't ideal, anything Deus Ex will instantly be purchased. Don't care what platform it's on. :>

Honestly doesn't look that bad. Tablet gaming is pretty fun sometimes.

If it was anything BUT an FPS/Cover Based Shooting RPG like Deus Ex, I agree.

I think the game looks mildly interesting. The whole bait and switch they played with the teaser was super fucking lame, though.

If this was on PC or even consoles, it'd probably be at least halfway decent. You can take any great core game that you want and if you try to force touch controls on them, or even virtual buttons like they did with GTA 3, it's just a complete nightmare to try and play properly.

I'd rather have it be tablet exclusive than console exclusive.

Also, having a good ipad game is great for travel, so I don't mind.

But what if we don't go outside?

@28 - that dude's complaint is completely understandable. without giving the spoilers away the end of HR is basically like a really bad zombie game and the actual endings themselves are very bad too -- i don't think you need to beat the game to say it's a pretty good one albeit majorly flawed due to the entire last location just being crummy
