Since everyone is sad lawena is gone I'll post this as I think it will help some.

HLAE still doesn't work right now though.
I hope some PREC functions like map names in demo names can be added to demosupport

AVIRecorder is a good alternative to lawena for those needing something. If you want the limited HUD etc. just copy those files from lawena's folder into your custom.
To my knowledge the only thing lawena does that is hard to do otherwise is replacing skyboxes, but someone can probably write a simple utility for that anyway.

dxlevel 81 works fine but I guess it looks like the launch option is messed up, you can change dxlevel by navigating to HKCU\Software\Valve\Source\tf\Settings in regedit and simply setting DXLevel_V1 to your preference.

lenovo laptop 14alc05
ryzen 5700u
16gb, 7.7gb shared, 512mb dedicated to i-gpu
driving 1440p external monitor via hdmi.
did a bunch of testing after joining skial harvest @ 22 players and with "low" avgs of 60-70 and shooting up to 170 when not looking at a lot of players (same as test #1). Seemingly can't alt-tab with -vulkan being used, not sure if igpu drivers are being weird or what.
Will say, very pleased with how this is turning out. I've slowly seen this laptop over the past... 2? 3? years become more and more viable for the random stuff i want to do occasionally. Went back to harvest, 15-20 players on the server lowest i saw with dx81, mastercom very low was like 80-90 on a mid.
I ran nerd shit for dx81, 90, and 95 progressively working up to the final 2 states i benched. like 2 dozen other tests if you want to check it out here: https://pastebin.com/b3d0bqfH

yeah it could a bit (for server hostings) but the problem is that atm most of the sourcemod stuff on 64-bit doesn't work so there is no sense in playing on them

i got dx81 to work by just putting mat_dxlevel 81 in my config. Gotta run it before any graphics settings cus it will reset them otherwise. The regedit method might be better for some other reasons but i cba.

unintended benefit of this update seems to be the ability to run 2k hz polling without dropping frames/stuttering. But still no go on 4k for me.

apparently there were changes to the cvar list, some of which i found pretty interesting. link to total changes available here
- fps_max default from 300 -> 400
- m_rawinput now defaults to 1
- a lot of commands were added for the direction and angle of sounds, including a command to override the sound device

The game server can only run the simulation on a single CPU core (skill issue).
In the current cases where resources are adequately provisioned (one CPU core per game server minus one overall for the OS/other tasks, and the CPU clock is fast enough to keep up with the simulation), the performance change won't really matter much.
It maybe gives a few more opportunities to run the server on slower CPUs, or if you wanna put too many gameservers up (don't do that, that's degenerate).
