its also been 2 years since i made this thread about pyro airblast locking you out of pressing your movement keys and mastercoms revealed that the solution is already in the vanilla game i think we should make use of this in our High Skilled Movement Shooter (emphasis on the Movement part i hope)

edit on top of that, since we made such a huge formatting choice in terms of the regular season (stage 1, 2, playoffs) and said "hey we'll test it out next season (season 12) and see how people like it" why can we not do something similar for tiny gameplay fixes? just try them out and see how they go and just revert next season if theyre somehow catastrophic? i dont see the harm in that. we run polls on weapon unbans and map rotation every season and that DEFINITELY holds far more weight from a game balance perspective than "hey my scout didnt block my pipes/rockets/stickies by accident and lose us the fight"

You guys are bringing up a lot of good points but rgl moves slowly. They've only asked if we wanted to play attack/defend on the past 3 surveys. Maybe once they're confident in the results, we can hope these gameplay improvements will be considered.

If only RGL took non-Invite player feedback more seriously...

are the weapon unbans just there to fill out the poll or is there genuine belief that a single one of those weapons should be unbanned?

this is the same as soldiers saying scout is too strong. with them i get it but most who jump to that willingly ignore all their mistakes or excuse them on perceived imbalance. with mg there's less nuance: if u allow urself to get in range u die. most soldiers can't do it. i see no need to punish the small minority of soldiers who have good jumps and dm because scouts and meds are allowing themselves to die while ignoring all of the soldier's efforts. b4nny's defense is sufficient.

Can we talk about RGL and TF2 instead of insulting people for who they are?

It's very difficult for me to say I want new maps in the pool when there are no map cups, or ways for us to learn the maps when everyone can ban it or not pick it in pick/ban. No one wants to scrim these new maps because we won't play them, and we won't play them because we won't scrim them. It is just so much more efficient to scrim maps that we are likely to play. It felt like there wasn't that much diversity in invite last season, at least to me. I think there even was a team in advanced that played process every single game.

Perhaps there can be some system to add diversity to what we play? I am not entirely sure how that would work, but we could maybe vote for something like a rotating map ban.

I'm not sure how others feel about it though, and I don't think invite and advanced want to go through with playing 1 map per week again. It just feels like half of the maps in the pool exist just so people can eventually pick one of the pug maps.

i agree with you on every front and i think bo1 pick format just guarantees the blandest of maps, but you did play 8/9 maps last season with the one that was excluded being sunshine. this isn't actual analysis (likely the more common maps are actually more common) but the bo3 format did seem to help. switching to a bo2 pick format for round robin might also help since it's hard to create a balanced and fun bo1 pick format.

at worst my post is lazily written, at best you should use a dictionary.
