Is there a reason that Prem/D1 play same old maps with nice pick/ban system? When lower divs are forced to play double koth + 2 new maps to keep things ''fresh''? Why doesn't top divs want super fresh map pool without pick/ban or could it be that their map pool and system is just superior? And why isn't any of this polled?

Also why was 5 week season scrapped? In Prem + numbered divs there are almost always 2 bottom teams that fold / Get only points against themselves. It gets pretty tiring to play 2 meaningless officials almost every season when teams just fold week 4/5. ( Could be just my opinion, and i see why mid and lower would prefer 7 weeks.)

Not a hate thread, i just want to know why same league has two different map pools?

I think the 5 week season was done to accommodate for LAN and now that it's cancelled they reverted back to 7 week system

Imo pick-ban system was just tested on a smaller group before launching it on a bigger scale. I actually enjoyed this last season, good change.

Yeah, understandable. I just feel like shorter seasons could make some divisions more competitive.

Yeah i tought it looked fun, except for searching scrims. If people liked it, why not implement it to lower divisons too instead of making them play 4 new random maps every season?

As a spectator I would enjoy the game more seeing more maps being played than the usual 4 that always get picked, and as a player figuring out maps refreshes the game(not to mention the extra motivation for mappers), but I guess ETF2L polled their players and went with the more popular choice.

I remember the maps argument being a thing about etf2l's two maps officials vs esea's one map too, as in it was easier to introduce new maps when teams could grind only this map for next week's match instead of two.
