The stream should have had little banners in the corner advertising the ESEA finals next weekend during most of the event. From what I watched, it was mentioned once or twice.
Running a charity stream the weekend before big LAN's should be a reoccurring thing in my opinion. It would bring attention to the upcoming LAN, make the community look even better to newcomers, and would just be a nice thing to do.
Feel free to add more.

tf.tv pulled partnership of this event a week before it happened... so yeah
But yeah, this was really awesome. I would love to do it again next year, hopefully bigger and better!

What was the reasoning behind their decision?

i49 i think, there were rumours that people were saying this was going to flop big time and embarass the community -- either way it doesn't matter all that matters is that we're going to send ~16 kids off to camp!
hopefully if the rumours are true we have earned the trust of tf.tv and i think we showed that we are capable of running an event
edit: also sorry if anything im saying is incoherent i've been running on empty for awhile now
edit2: just gonna retract those statements because of the potential hostility that may be taken from them. this isn't about me, this isn't about who sponsored who, this is about one step camp and how incredible our community is

Easily the best streamed event I've seen, I really really enjoyed watching when I wasn't playing. The generosity of this community is incredible. I thought the surfing event was really really awesome.
thank you truktruk for the camera work <3

I sincerely hope this becomes an annual event. It was incredible to be a part of, even only as a viewer/donator. And the fact that we raised over $33k only makes this even even more astounding.

thanks for the endless of hours of work put in by many charitable people, as well as all the donations.

LangeBefore people start crucifying enigma, there was a lot of uncertainty around this event and Enigma was not fully in the loop. From his standpoint, I really do understand his decision to distance TF.TV from the event in light of the i49 fundraiser. I imagine that in the future though, there will be a much closer partnership.
only if he gives us pizza, im willing to share but i want pizza

I think you're hungry, so go get some food. If I could, I would make you food, because you (and everyone else involved in planning this) deserve it.
...actually, I'd just hire brad for you, Not confident in my cooking abilities.

Don't really want to add this on to my post above.
If this does happen again (and it should), I would love to take a more active role. I'm sure many others feel this way.

Well, I think the important thing is that I did a really good job, especially when I told Ma3laa what his name really sounds like.

thank you for the offer, and i'd like to say i had so many offers similar to this but i felt like with the amount of work involved and the sensitive info like logins and emails and whatnot i had to rely on friends, and friends came through big time for me...

with that said, when the next event does get planned -- we will FOR SURE make ways for literally anyone who wants to be involved to be involved

Would've had a lot more viewership if the promo vid was released a bit earlier.
Why wasn't this in the Upcoming Events tab? Could've written an article maybe so people could just click on the event to get the schedule instead of saving the url or going back to the thread.
I didn't see it on twitch front page. It might've been, but I'm not sure. Definitely have that some more if it didn't happen a bit.
Then again it was all volunteer work so for a charity stream of this magnitude was just completely unexpected. It turned out so well and raised a lot of money!
Beautiful job!
I also would like to shimmy my way into the jumping section if there is a next one, and have more money to donate!

I feel the same... also it should have been backed by the tf team - they have some stupid cosplay on their front page. There should have been one of those news popping up on the tf main menu
Also this event was nothing short of phenomenal! Thx @ all involved!

Definitely getting to contribute some entertainment by playing in one of the Saturday PUGs was a personal highlight for me. Hopefully I put a smile on somebody's face with my antics.
10/10 will volunteer next year.

This isn't really a suggestion for next years stream, but can the casters for esea lan next week please include a "listen in" on each team's comms again. It's interesting to hear how each team operates, and connects the spectators to the players involved.(also it gives the casters some time to breathe).

The problem with this is that the STV is on a delay, while I believe the camera work was done from spec for this event. Meaning there would have to be some sort of a mumble relay set up with a delay equal to that of the STV for this to happen at LAN. It's definitely possible, but I'm not sure how feasible it is (would require ESEA support?)

I actually would rather hear comms than casters. At the very least, I'd like to see comms released after the event, but if someone could set up a mumble relay that would be amazing.

there are ways to listen in on mumble comms on a 90 second delay. i doubt we will be able to arrange it for a lan event ever but it's something that is possible for online matches, at least
