In anticipation for the first international LAN taking place on American soil in two years, a few of The Boomers have returned to the TF2 scene, forming a team derived from a hodgepodge of former Ascent players.
For many seasons, the combination of rando, Bdonski, and team-owner Ma3laa were the core of Ascent ever since the team transitioned to the Ascent tag back in ESEA Season 19. As hopes of taking first began to wane, slowly players quit one by one. First rando departed after Season 25, followed by Ma3laa after Season 27, and finally Bdonski after Season 29. At this point, however, it appears their retirement funds, which were built almost entirely upon second-place checks, have run dry, and Season 20’s championship combination of Pocket, Demoman, and Roamer have finally returned to the fold.

Once the last member of the founding Ascent roster had finally passed on, a new generation of competitors rose to take their place. As part of a reformed Ascent, cozen secured third in Season 29, and yight took second during both the dying seasons of ESEA and at i65. Meanwhile, alongside Bdonski, highfive took second on FROYO BLACK, while also frequently taking third with the various iterations of café monster.
highfive briefly gave their thoughts towards their new comrades.
fuck rando
In response, after a long tirade against millennials, rando commented on his generational disillusion.
I was born in the wrong generation. I'm nearly thirty and the tank is empty.
The Boomers are pulling themselves up by their bootstraps with:
- Scout: highfive
- Scout: yight
- Roamer: Ma3laa
- Pocket: rando
