#33 Never ship with Purolator! in Off Topic

It's possible people just go directly to Purolator to complain and our store never gets involved.

However, a good amount of orders are placed in-store as opposed to online, and in-store we don't specifically tell the customer it's being transported by Purolator unless they ask. They just place the order and we call them once it's in.

I do know Purolator sometimes has issues with delivering to apartments, but from what I've heard that's usually only when there's some issue with the buzzer.

#29 Never ship with Purolator! in Off Topic

I do shipping/receiving at a retail chain that uses Purolator. Our store ships out anywhere from 5-30 grand worth of products every month (really rough estimate) and the only complaints I've ever heard from customers in 3+ years of working there was due to staff sending them the wrong product.

Not trying to discredit your story. Just saying they're not all bad, plus all personal deliveries to me were done on time.

#3 thoughts on alternative mice to WMO/G400? in Hardware

I used the MX518 for like 8 years, then the G400 for several more until the cable gave out.

I'm using an Zowie EC2-A now. The shape is similar tho a little less...robust? I love it though. Sensor is great and doesn't spin out at high speeds like the eVo line of Zowie mice, which this one replaces.

#24 Where do you work? in Off Topic

I work at Mark's (Canadian casual+work clothes store chain). My official title is shipper/receiver but that's misleading because I do fucking everything.

On the plus side, I'm getting "promoted" to "Regional Shrink Expert" soon, whatever the fuck that means. I think it mostly entails me trying desperately not to sound passive-aggressive as I repeatedly email other stores to make them email me their shrink reports so I can gather it all up and pass it along to the head of asset protection.

I'm not bitter I swear.

#69 your entire time with tf2 in Off Topic

I like this season breakdown thing.

2010: Ran some PUGs with the pub "clan" I was part of. A few of us (me, Boink & Foster) really enjoyed the change from pubs and decided to move on to lobbies, persuaded by Tragic. I even have a really shitty frag movie from my first lobbies here. :D

TWL S7: Made a team consisting of (off the top of my head): me, Foster, Gypsey Davey, Chicago Bread/Sheep, Taters, Sung, and a few others in various roles, including one crazy Russian girl. I think it was the last season of TWL and we all ended up in one division. This was when Check6 was still THPS.

PUG.NA draft cup: I threw my name on the sign up thread on CommFT and was incredibly surprised when Harbleu picked me as backup. One of this starter scouts had a serious case of the nerves so I was brought in to replace him. What I remember the most from that tournament was being the last one alive and failing to finish a 3k with Harbleu encouraging me in his way. I felt like I let my dad down or something. On the plus side we came in second and won a bunch of TF2 posters.

ESEA S10: After my TWL team died I was picked up by Badfish's team who we used to scrim a lot. I was pretty nervous since it was my first ESEA team, but thankfully we mostly got carried by mshrmpwr.

S12: Picked up by Radium for a team he was making (Wu-Tang Financial). We didn't do too hot but it was fun.

S13: Remained on Wu-Tang Financial and we didn't do too hot again.

S14: Picked up by Hooli. This was my first season in IM and I remember how cool it was to be playing against guys who before then I've only watched play in casted matches. This was my first jump in personal skill after plateauing in open, since IM players played way faster and punished mistakes, forcing me to get better to keep up. Still didn't do too hot tho.

S15: Picked up by Sherman Gluck and Romeo Love for their open team. Team was fun when we were winning. Quickly turned into the most cancerous team I've ever been on when we started losing. This team was the only time I've ever just straight up quit Mumble and TF2 mid-scrim because of how toxic and immature the "comms" became. Played 4 matches before we died or I left the team, not sure which it was.
Either way, after that I got picked up by Lydi and played the rest of the season out on her IM team. We did pretty terrible but it was much more fun and I learned a lot more from being back in IM.

S16: The legendary Steve MRSLIN Lin convinced me to join an open team he was making. I was hesitant at first because I wanted to keep playing IM and I felt like I'd plateau again in Open, but he convinced me he was in it for the long haul and wanted to build a team that he could eventually take into Invite. That season of Open was kind of a joke and we ended up in 2nd place, losing out on first against a team full of invite players.

S17: Got moved up to IM and had some minor roster changes. Somehow Slin managed to convince Jav to play scout for us, and we did fairly well until right before playoffs when motivation to actively review demos tanked and Jav left the team to main Diablo 3 or something, and the team decided to fold. Although I'm still salty about the team dying, Jav joined our team in the first place because we promised we wanted to seriously improve and he didn't see any of that towards the end of the regular season, so I can't really blame him for leaving. Either way, as much as I hated having the team die along with my chances of playing in Invite, those two seasons with Goldman Sachs were still the most fun I've had in TF2. I love you Steve.

Now I just pub occasionally. :(

#14 Question for people who quit TF2 in Off Topic

(My post is assuming comp TF2 and not pubs, which I still play occasionally)

Has your life improved since you quit?
Yes, but not because I quit TF2.

Do you get bored enough to feel the urge to come back to TF2 often, or are you satisfied enough with where you are (or dissatisfied enough with TF2 when you left) to not even consider it?
I've been tempted a few times, but I haven't due to my job and the chore of finding a team that's fun to play with while still taking it somewhat seriously.

Did you have some other, non-videogame hobby to spend your time on, or did you exit into the world with no clear plans for what to do next?
I don't think I had anything in mind when I quit. However, in the mean time, Reflex has crossed my path, and I'm focusing on that game. The fact that the main game mode is 1v1 makes it very easy to find time to practice.

What was the main reason that you decided to quit TF2?
Had a bittersweet last season. It was kind of like when you eat an amazing meal, but as you're still enjoying the after taste, you let a really wet fart rip while you're in public and end up with a gross wet butt. I think that's a fairly accurate way of describing my last season.

And, of course, why do you browse a forum for a game you no longer play?
Because I still feel part of the community and I love you meme-loving fucks.

#122 Scream Fortress VIII has arrived in TF2 General Discussion

Based on what we've heard from the devs and recent updates, I feel like they have this (awful) idea of how TF2 "should" be played, and they're trying to push it on us.

When it's some "pootis maymay xD" person on Reddit claiming TF2 should be played 12v12 with no limits, you can safely ignore their opinion, but when it's the devs who think along those lines, you've got a problem.

#11 account locked?? in Q/A Help

If you used a credit card to buy any games you can give them the last 4 digits and the name on the card IIRC.

If you used PayPal you can use transaction IDs or something.
