i mean the losing demo man had way more damage than the winning one meaning the aggressor's demo should switch to something that takes more damage from the enemy demo? is that what you're saying? all these logs say is that when one team is at a severe skill deficit the demo on the losing team has ample opportunity. boutrosWhile we're at it can the self-damage to demo also be scaled the same way that stickies are? I'd feel a little better about things if I could do 20 damage jumps to complement the 20 damage stickies.
i think that jump power relies on sticky damage so less self damage means you jumps wouldn't go as far i believe, not sure though. I don't seem to juggle anything with stickies at the current rate of damage so that's what i base it on.

Better area denial? Sure if you hit the headshot it's good, but if you miss the team is fucked. Traps are just as effective as ever, and they are still the best "denial" weapon. Literally the only difference is demos can't fight with sticks as effectively. Pipes still work fine. Kritz will mainly go to pockets now, and you probably won't see it in big open areas that much.
I remember back in the day when soldiers used to have 56 rockets. We got nerfed, people cried, people switched classes, others adapted. Everyone needs to calm down.
the stickies taht used to deny area so well now do 20-40 damage so it's actually worse than a b ody shot, doesn't even need to be a headshot. you're a soldier you wouldn't understand.
give us 12 stickies, give us 16 just leave my damage numbers alone!

valiantSaltysally1stuffAbsolutely. But then why ramp up? Why not just a direct nerf to damage? It's not like a 15% damage penalty would hurt sticky traps that much. Why even allow the demo to use it if it was so powerful? Demo didn't get gunboats. They clearly didn't have to give it to demo. It doesn't add up that the nerf was directly caused by the parachute.
common sense tells me to move out of the way of stickies that sit next to me for 2 seconds. I can't believe i had to actually explain this to you.

If anything, demos using the parachute aren't going to be air detting stickies on people. They'd be better served carpeting stickies all over the place, which means that stickies will do full damage anyway.
the best position in this game is the air and the chute allows you to nearly be perpetually airborne giving you an infinite advantage. It is highly improbable that valve took the time to think about us.
just for the sake of argument i want to see what happens when we nerf a soldier weapon this drastically.

This is the primary weapon of the Demoman class. You should be comparing this weapon to the Rocket launcher, not the secondary weapon called sticky launcher.
