sildeezyCHERRYjake_I don't know how australian league time limits work, but I think dpm is the relevant stat (i.e. more damage = longer game not better play necessarily). How do you force medic without doing damage?
More importantly, stats cannot accurately reflect gameplay in many circumstances.
A roamer could do 0 dpm yet still accomplish things by, for example, forcing medics or completing backcaps.
A demo could do 400 dpm and be playing poorly because he constantly baits his team and doesn't control relevant space.
You will rarely do it without doing literally any damage. But what I think he means is this: Say you spawn as roamer, and you know you need to go for a force. You go in, hit the medic for 100 with your first shot, and the med sees your second shot and knows it's going to do more than 50 damage, so he pops uber. You probably die shortly after. Then you're waiting on your spawn timer before you can do any more damage at all. All you did was 100 damage. You didn't get a frag, or an assist. The only thing the stats reflect is a death on your part.
Damage stats really don't mean shit unless they are really polarized - ie: everyone on your team does 12k damage but you only do 6k... then there is probably something wrong. You've gotta look at the game as a whole.
There are way too many variables to look at for damage alone to be a significant stat.
Maybe you're playing against better teams. Maybe your team mates are just doing more. Maybe you're under-performing. Maybe you're getting baited. Maybe you're baiting everyone. Maybe your team just isn't utilizing your combo correctly. Maybe you're getting heals at the wrong times. Maybe your team is taking damage at the wrong times. I could keep this list going for days. Watch your demos instead of your stats :D
i've seen medics pop because of spies and they don't do any damage :P
