Monitor Aiming = mouse control
#1 You have to use your brain if you want to win. in TF2 General Discussion

Yesterday was the day I realized that aiming is not enough for you to win. No matter what game you play. Sometimes it´s not only your mouse control that is the issue, but your brain as well. If you only care about aiming, then how can you expect to win?

I have never been interested in gaming really. The more I had to use my brain the more I wanted to uninstall the game. Aiming was just fun to me so that kept me going.

This is why I ball chase in rocket league, and ignore my team. This is why I only play FPS games. This is why I always play without my team in counter strike. This is why I never use utilities in counter strike either. This is why I only play Hanzo in overwatch. I literally just never cared about using my brain in video games. In hearthstone I always just hoped my deck would do the work for me. I never cared to make smart decisions, I would just gamble and hope that my deck would work. The same goes for aiming. I always just hoped that my aim was enough for me to win, but that simply is just not the case. My aim is so good right now, but I literally don´t think. I am not present. I go for frags, do risky moves, I don´t play with my team, I don´t communicate, and it just keeps going. I realized that I will actually have to focus on the game itself if I want to win, and that is just a painful idea to me, and that is why I will not improve in gaming.

Now that I think about it. None of the top players are aiming geeks either. Most of these top players never cared or focused on aiming, and that is why they have high elo, because they focus on the game itself. They just happened to be good at aiming as well.

#1 Changing settings is a gambling addiction in TF2 General Discussion

I have been playing MGE scout vs scout for 5 years now. Ive been trying to reach 2300 elo for years, was stuck at 1700 elo for 3 years, then I reached 2180 when I learned everything, compared my aim to other players by watching demos and so on, but I have now changed settings 1 trillion times, and I recently realized it´s not helping at all. I can see when I watch my demos that my aim remains 90% the same no matter what I do, no matter what mouse or settings I use. I even noticed that my movement remains the same as well. If I move differently then I will miss all my shots. I have the same movement, and I am stuck with it, which just proves again that changing settings doesn´t affect your ability to aim and move. I depend alot on my movement when I aim, because I struggle with aiming. I do these long strafes right and left constantly, because I struggle with tracking and micro adjustments and so on. I have to use movement as a part of my aim, because my aim is bad. I tried viewmodels as well, it can help with movement and strafing sometimes. Good aimers don´t need to rely on movement as much, they don´t even have to think about any of this stuff either. I don´t naturally use my arm when I aim either, my wrist is glued to the table. Many of the best players use their arm in some way, I don´t. My brothers aim and movement doesn't change either when he changes settings or mouse, but hes already 2300 elo, that's why he never changes settings or gear. Aiming just feels natural to him. I have tested trillions of different mice and mousepads, hopefully this inspires someone whos addicted to QUIT. The best players have been good for decades without trying at all. I recently lost to an old MGE player with 3 hours in 2 weeks, who hadn´t played for almost 10 years as well. It´s blatant at this point, how easy it is for some people. Some people can just aim in their sleep. I remember changing settings constantly in 2014 as well, history really just repeats itself. That really says alot, and it´s obvious that its because of my bad mouse control, and ive been subconsciously knowing that something is wrong with my aim during all of this time.

So if you find yourself constantly changing settings, then it probably means that something is wrong with your aim, and you are desperately trying to fix it by changing settings and gear, when it´s really just your mouse control that is the issue. If your aim is bad, you should focus on movement. If you focus too much on aim nothing will happen. It can help however to find a comfortable mouse shape, but it´s still not gonna fix the core issue which is mouse control, atleast not with the tons of different mice that I have tested. Maybe a gaming pen could work for me, instead of a mouse. You know, were all different.
