#113 Christmas Presents in Off Topic

My Christmas gift to myself was my new PC, other than that I got new work shoes and boots, new snow tires, money, clothes, and the last three books of the series I'm reading.

Your setup just keeps getting better and better

My old PC was a 5 or so year old piece of shit, so gotta keep up with the times and upgrade.

Nick- we have the same case :D

HAF 912 is an amazing case. The instructions were fucking frustrating though.

#4 Need help setting up RAID in Hardware

Alright, yeah after reading up on RAID a bit more closely, that's not what I want. I just want my SSD and new HDD to show up in my drives list when I open Computer. I think I'll need to re-install Windows to get Windows onto the SSD but anything else I want there can just be moved over.

#1 Need help setting up RAID in Hardware

I just finished building my new PC yesterday, and realized that the 2.5" HDD bay tray was two sided, so I moved my old 500GB HDD to my new PC with the new 2TB WD HDD and the 120GB Kingston SSD. Now my question is, can I migrate all the files I'd want on an SSD (Windows, Steam, TF2) from the 500GB HDD to the SSD? If so, I need help setting up RAID and configuring the drives, as I'm very BIOS illiterate.

AvastThat beautiful moment when you look at all your boxed parts right before building. Ahhhh

Yeah, and this is my first custom build as well so I get to experience all the joy and frustration for the first time.

The HAF 912 I bought had to come out of somewhere in Cali, everything else shipped from Memphis so I got it today. Will possibly post a build album alongside a finished product picture when the case gets here.

#363 PC Build Thread in Hardware

When it comes to making sure parts are compatible, I'm fine. As for what I put together, yes the CPU is lackluster, and the motherboard is a bit as well, but considering what I have now (AMD Athlon X2 220, 4 GB RAM, Galaxy GeForce GT520, 500GB HDD) it's a major upgrade.

#360 PC Build Thread in Hardware

Okay so I went ahead and put together this semi-budget build. My intent was to only spend more than $100 on the CPU and GPU, which I did. Made sure it wall works together, PC Part Picker's only concern is if the 770 will fit in my HAF 912, but I think it should be fine.

#354 PC Build Thread in Hardware

Now that I've decided to build a new PC, which retailer should I order parts from? The two big ones I know of are Newegg and MicroCenter, but I know there are others.

#15 Enlighten me on which mouse I should get in Hardware

I've had my FK1 for about 2-3 months now, and I think it's a fantastic mouse. Only gripe with the FK1 is my scroll wheel wobbles a bit, as others have said, but that's not a deal breaker. Other than that, it had a great sensor and glides smooth on almost any mousepad. Not sure about the FK2 yet, I've only seen what it looks like so far.
