This is an aspect we will need to discuss, as much as it is a nice idea to have! There are also problems that come with it which could be possibly fixed. Aspects like spam, trolling, negativity and complaints/bug spamming are all issues.
That's what I feared as well but I believe the benefits outweigh the possible downsides. I mean, it's certainly worth a try, and if the community doesn't fuck this up, it could be similarly useful as the chatbox on tf2center. YMMV, of course.
Would it be difficult to implement Valve's OAuth token to gain access to comments? Maybe it's indeed easier to have a link under each HUD that leads to a reserved subsection in a forum, but adding a spot in the forums for each individual HUD would probably be tedious, too..
How about an irc channel and implement it into the website?

hanbroloi dont think huds.tf should have its own forum. directing people to tf.tv is good for competitive.
even pub players use huds so saying "go check out the hud modifications thread on tf.tv" is spreading the word, however small. the only reason i can think of would be if people hate seeing huds threads on tf.tv and they can just disable seeing tf2 customization if thats the case.
The hud modifications thread is a terrible reference. The thread is dedicated to sharing hud ideas and development.This website is for people who want an easy way to find complete and working huds.
