JesseBurnA little history on our great friend robtheawsm. This guy used to mentor a hl team of mine back in season 13. I eventually got above a pub level of knowledge about the game and realized most of what he said was untrue and plain stupid. He always boasted about all the nerfs, buffs, and new weapons that valve was going to add to the game, all of which never actually happened,,, He's always had a beef with the soldier class because his sniper/med positioning is atrocious and he has no idea how to actually surf, so he just spreads rumors about soldier getting HUGE nerfs that will destroy the class. Eventually he started an sfm business with the only purpose being, and I distinctly remember being in mumble with him when he said this, "to make money off of gullible people." Sadly he did. He later made his youtube channel where he just spread lies with the only purpose being to get views and money. He plays himself up so much and anyone who criticizes or questions his ways gets blocked. He's one of those people who has an addiction to lying,,, kinda sad tbh. Like come on man, you really think that people would actually believe that you played on Knd without actually rostering or, from what I know, not having any of the leaders added? I actually called him out on that among other things and simply got blocked with no response because he hates actually revealing the truth. In all the guy's a huge scum bag and it's disappointing that his following is as large as it is considering his entire career is made up upon blatant lies and being a huge douche to anyone who questions them.
side note: his flaming hatred of 6s is due to there being more than one soldier
Just a question, but what all did he tell you that was untrue? Just curious

Isololeryy'Highlander is more strategic because you have to manage 9 of your people against 9 on the other team,'He's a fucking idiot and highlander is an unstrategic shitfest in practice, but there is a salient point related to what he's saying.
As someone who has led teams for both hl and 6s before, the work required outside of the game to coordinate the varying schedules and skill-levels and emotions of 9 different mentally unstable players and coaxing them towards working together to win at video games can often be a very difficult task to stay on top of.
I agree wholeheartedly. Note to mention the fact that finals just happened and a good third of my team lives on the west coast when the other two thirds are east coast make for scheduling nightmares.

Sideshownick is playing for froyo until they find a new medic afaik
So who do you all think will be replacing him? Common thought is cookiejake, but in teh .inT v. -42- match, Deathy alluded to some "insider knowledge" on why phorofor wasn't playing for .inT and trainer was. This could possibly mean that phorofor is practicing with FROYO. If so, I feel really bad for .inT. First Nursey and then phorofor. They're like how 20b was as FROYO picked up Duwatna and ash.

Hours on record just records the number of hours the game is open, this includes time spent in the main menu
Playtime (hours) are hours spent in an actual server and is much more accurate in terms of actual playtime
What I assume is there should be another 0 where there isn't one or a lot of accidentally leaving the game open

demos and meds are always in short supply for actual teams because demo is hella hard against actual coordinated teams (aka not pug teams)
Fair point, and that's what I was trying to allude to, so I'll try again.
Without coordination, they are certainly difficult. But it is the same with coordination as the enemy does too. Medic and Demoman happen to be my two favorites so I put up with it, and it helps that I'm half decent. However, what class you chose comes down to what format you like. If you prefer 6s like most of us here, Go for Scout, Soldier, Demoman, or Medic. While the demand for the latter two is twice that of the others, there are two of the others to balance it out. If you like HL, really go for what you enjoy the most. Beyond that, I would advise diversifying so you can take multiple roles if need be.

Tobin a competitive setting demoman is probably the hard-to-master class with a high skill ceilling you're looking for.
The competitive scene also needs more demomen so if you want to get into comp in a couple of months once you're getting the hang of it you'll be able to find a team relatively easy
From the PUGs I've done and watched, getting a Medic always seems harder than finding a Demoman. Regardless, they are in really short supply so you can get away with being a meh Medic (Like me!) and still being acceptable.
