Alienware laptops are good and all, but they are way too expensive. You are paying a premium for the name. I picked up a Toshiba Qosmio a while back because I like to LAN but I hate dragging my giant tower around. The Qosmio was way better then anything else in the price range, and it even has a 120hz display.

If you have money to throw away, Alienware isn't bad, but you can get something better for less if you shop around a bit.

I picked an older one of these up for when im on the road (cant game on 60hz anymore), and it is actually close to being on par with my desktop, its really nice. Look around to find one listed as "refurbished" or "open box" tho. I got one that was technically listed as refurbished, but only because the stupid 3d glasses were damaged and they couldnt sell it as brand new. I got $500 off for that lol.
