#11 recent/new release rap thread in Music, Movies, TV

been enjoying good am and rodeo lately. also some of the drake/future songs just stick in my head all day. hoping for doomstarks come out this year but not getting my hopes up

edit: far from a fan but the game's new single "el chapo" is good as hell

#162 Overwatch Event Impressions in Other Games
ArxdeetrArxI played TFC for 8 years. I didn't like the idea of TF2. I saw a load of videos and hated that they took all the speed out of the game. Sadly I had to move to TF2 as TFC was dying and I still wanted to play a game that had some of the TFC characteristics. I feel like Overwatch is pretty much the same thing happening again. Imagine going from this to TF2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOyGGs9s2jA
I disagree with this because of exactly what you said in the rest of your post. Overwatch is more moba-like than FPS-like and I don't think that there will be enough in common for the TF2 community to migrate many players completely.

It is a lot more moba-like, but actually... TF2 is a lot more moba like than TFC. Is it a bad thing?

I think TF2 is the superior game from what I've seen, but I've got this feeling that the timing and style of Overwatch is just perfect for TF2 style teams to really burst onto the eSports scene (somewhere TF2 never has and never will go). Let's face it, if you've played TF2 for the last 7 years, you're going to have a massive advantage in a game like this compared to a CS:GO team that migrates across. If the title is successful as an eSport, it's going to be TF2 teams who can lead the way.

Just speaking from my perspective but I think I would have an easier time transferring over to a game like CS:GO, rather than Overwatch. The aim and mechanics aren't as different as some people think. The main difference being people have been playing csgo for 10 years, so you have a lot of catching up to do if you are new rather than starting "even" in a game like Overwatch.

that video you linked has one major thing in common that links all the games i love the most: the quake(or quake-like) engine/physics. I think Overwatch will be good but honestly, if this game wasn't heavily inspired by the TF2 aesthetic I don't think this would even be a discussion

#12 TotH Thanks and Shoutouts in TF2 General Discussion

I normally don't keep up with the toth events (that I don't participate in) but the production this year was just outstanding, it was a lot of fun to watch. the outro had me feeling some feelings that I didn't quite expect to feel this weekend

#32 ESEA Invite Season 20 Preview in News

It really does seem like ma3la playing pocket was a big upgrade. Ma3la himself also said he was a better pocket than roamer, and I was expecting him to play pocket this esea season, but I guess he's more confortable playing roamer. I'm not saying Rando is a bad pocket, as he's obviously one of the best pockets out there, just my thoughts after watching i55.

I mean Rando's obviously amazing, but could you imagine what Shrugger and Yomps could do with more than 20% heals between both of them? The games with Ma3la pocketing seemed to have a much better heal spread without much of a drop off in pocket effectiveness.

I don't really agree, I felt like I wasn't able to play my game after we switched around roles. the upside was that we had more energy and comms in the combo but ma3la is a pretty heal heavy pocket just like rando so nothing in that regard changes. our games with rando on pocket were a lot more fast paced so I felt like i was more of a factor but on 2nd day the games were slowed to a crawl. I felt like I couldn't do anything and it was pretty frustrating. We just weren't on our game and I am pretty confident that if there is a next time, we won't make the same mistakes

#326 Razer Arena - TF2 Frag Fest (EU&NA) in TF2 General Discussion

I wanted to play but my usual crew wasn't around this afternoon. I'd love for the community to get serious and at least make the last 2 events (yes, only 2 left!!) the best they can be. Unfortunately I can't play weds anymore (night classes) but I hope everyone who can will contribute

DilusiveOnd_kajacan you remove class limits from the config? it's standard to keep them off for non-lobby games
Honestly I see no reason to remove the class limits. If they are expected in the format why not just enforce it config side rather than relying on everyone to adhere to it?

You are correct, it is actually standard to have class limits ESPECIALLY in matches

I don't know if this applies for Aussies too but the exchange rate is pretty insane for us americans. it hurts knowing everything you buy is like twice as much in dollars

#30 i55 shoutout/thanks thread in TF2 General Discussion

everyone at the event was super cool and friendly. I met a new person every 30 seconds and I can't remember even half of the names but I enjoyed talking to everyone. thanks for making it such a fun event!! and also have to echo the praise for production, I kept checking out their setup and was super impressed every time. everything looked so smooth and professional, everyone working together to put out an amazing product. I have never seen anything like it

#207 Razer Arena - TF2 Frag Fest (EU&NA) in TF2 General Discussion

I've had nothing but good experiences from the razer cups so far. Even when something goes wrong, admins are always quick to respond and help out. If me and my invite friends not playing in this tourney would make it fill up to 16/16 I would be completely content to not play (I care more about supporting the cup than the money) but I just don't think that is the case. I think it is a good chance to challenge yourselves and even get yourself known by better players, I would have enjoyed that when I was a new player.
