#20 Cool Math Games in Off Topic

All the run and duck life installments, World's Hardest Game, and Sugar Sugar were the most legendary and still are today.

Some of the matches I played tonight were unfair, some weren't unfair at all. Wish people would use their mics more often though. :/

#4 lft low-mid open roamer in Recruitment (looking for team)
5unnyam willing to put in lots of time to improve

http://i.imgur.com/dbzRA4M.png

First of all this boy is already putting in lots of time to improve and him always playing this game shows his drive to get better.

Have been playing mixchamps/lobbies with him for a while now and he does well on every class, but especially on soldier. MGEs a lot and is working on his mechanics often. Chill guy, fun to hang with, and I don't think I've ever experienced 5unny tilt. Definitely a mid open roamer and when he finds the right team will do very well. TRY HIM OUT

#6 worst setup you ever had in Off Topic

My setup is still absolute trash due to my Dell Inspiron 580 pc with literally the oldest i3 there is and integrated graphics, but my peripherals have gotten semi better.

My setup in its worst stage was one of those small dell mice where you were forced to claw grip it, no mousepad, small hd tv with like a 10ms response time & 60hz (of course). Desk was actually decent as I still use it today, it has a pull out droor (barely big enough to fit keyboard and mouse), but is manageable. Also had your standard dell keyboard, and still have it today

edit: my WORST OF ALL TIME setup was a laptop that could hardly even watch one youtube video without lagging, let alone make tf2 playable, had that small dell mouse with this too

#12 Is this laptop any good? in Hardware

I don't exactly know your situation but you could build a mini itx pc which is much smaller than normal tower cases and is much more ideal for travelling (many lan players use these).

If you wanted to, you could build a $600 mini itx compuer to move around and spend $100-200 on like a chromebook for schoolwork, internet browsing, etc.

Now, if you're moving around like crazy and moving around essentially a box and your monitor & peripherals is too much, let's talk about just a laptop. The laptop you chose has the processor ability equivalence of a Haswell Pentium G3258 from Intel. The 960m is not to be mistaken with the gtx 960 as it as not nearly the amount of power. The 960m has the performance of the old 650 ti. Knowing this I was able to find out that you most definititely would be able to play TF2 at least a 100 fps, more if you have the right config.

BUT I found a better laptop and might I suggest this
This laptop is better than the one you have listed, despite not having the ssd.
It comes with:

  1. i7-6700HQ (better than desktop processors such as the skylake i3-6100 and the haswell i5-4460) -- this is a really good laptop processor --- good for tf2
  2. 1 TB Hard drive --- not as fast as the ssd in the laptop you chose, but you get more storage.
  3. GTX 960M --- same video card as the laptop you chose
  4. 8 GB of RAM --- same amount as laptop you chose
  5. YOU SAVE $230, $60 CHEAPER THAN LAPTOP YOU CHOSE --- much cheaper than your laptop

All hardware judgements were made using userbenchmark.com -- real human benchmarks on hardware

I would suggest reading the reviews of any laptop before you buy make sure the majority of the reviews are good (there will be a few that are just unlucky), and the majority of the ones from the laptop I chose are good.

I spent like a half an hour making this so I hope I could be of some help to you. To be honest when you said your parents were split it kind of made me a little sad because it's the holiday season ya know and I realize I'm fortunate enough to have a full blown family to spend the holiday season with, so I figured I should put my knowledge and help someone out a little extra tonight. This was the best laptop I found and it's got an exceptional deal on it so I let you know. By all means you can continue to look for better ones but if I were you I would pick this up, as the deal ends in a few days.

#13 looking to upgrade pc - gfx card problem? in Hardware

If I were in your position I would go with something like this

  • These upgrades will put TF2 in a headlock and they won't let go, ever... (300+ fps)
  • They'll easily run Overatch and games like this at ultra settings 1080p 120+ fps
  • Included a mini version of the gtx 1060 so that it will fit in your micro atx case
  • Your 500 watt power supply will be plenty enough

If you have more money you can go with the i5-6600K and add a cooler such as the 212 evo or even get 16gbs of ram for like, $20 more

#23 I'm fucked in The Dumpster

Alright dude you gotta get a name change and complete disappear from the face of the earth and move to the Pitcairn Islands. If they find you there you gotta some how book your way onto the rocket of the next space mission. Chances are you won't find that, so then you'll have dig (by shovel of course) 1,000+ miles into the earth until you reach the lower edge of the lower mantle. Once you get there you should be good (don't mind food or water), that's not important right now. You SHOULD be safe. Happy travelling :)

#16 PSA for anyone who got a 144hz monitor for Xmas in Hardware
VulcanSkazniki went 6 months on 60hz without knowing i wasn't on 144hzDid you not notice that there was no difference in your gameplay?

I'm just surprised making sure it was on 144hz wasn't the first thing you did when you got the monitor
