#12 Tip of the Hats (Promo video) in TF2 General Discussion
ikpureJOEshould promote this on reddit if not done already
http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/1bxqdw/tip_of_the_hats_a_tf2_fundraiser_promo/

upboats plz

Also as strange as it may sound people should tweet this at Day9, hes a generally good guy and shown hes a supporter of both TF2 and charities in the past and getting a retweet or mention form him could help bring in a lot more people to donate for a good cause.

#216 Do you like the song above? in Music, Movies, TV

I dug it, the lo-fi sound actually added to it. It sounds like something I could sit back to, get wasted, and reflect on my life too. I really dig a lot of vocalless music so that fit right in.

#62 tftv i49 fundraiser in TF2 General Discussion
arkonHonestly, why are we doing this? Did we gain any more exposure in the esports scene after doing this last year?

Absolutely. i46 brought in a lot of new eyes, and brought a lot more attention to tf.tv and comp TF2 in general. I've played TF2 for a good while over two accounts, and it wasn't until i46 where I saw things really begin to happen, and finally found out about tf.tv.

Basically, right now, this and ESEA LAN are our MLG, although this is a world event so it brings in more hype, and more eyeballs.

In the small possibility we raise double the goal or more, would it be possible to send a second American team?

#5 AMD A8-5600k Trinity OC in Hardware

If you're going to buy a GPU already, get one of the AMD FX series CPUs, not an APU. APUs are amazing for budget builds when you don't have money for a graphics card, but when you're already buying one all it does is decrease your performance. The FX series CPUs are much, much better processors then the APUs.

JaguarFiendThe new Razer mice that are wireless are claiming performance that is practically on par with its wired counterparts but I just can't trust wireless things.

Its always a good thing to trust companies when they talk about how awesome their products are because they always tell the exact truth.

The game itself looks super fun and I want to play it.....but all the shit EA put around it (Origin, always-online, super DRM, bad servers, high price tag) made it a no buy. Its pretty shitty Maxis got fucked over like this, they made a really good game but EA has completely ruined it.

Best part, in two years they'll probably kill the servers and the game will be useless.

#33 Advertising tf.tv through....engagement rings. in TF2 General Discussion
TwitchTVJohn$100 for potentially 70,000 ad impressions. That's uhhh.. < $2 eCPM.

Still a better CPM than adsense. Enigma, this is your calling.

Even better when you think about how this is directly appearing to the entire, exact target demographic.

TaggerungIt would be cool if we could use these to advertise big matches that are coming up
Like sending out some notifications when LAN starts

But that shit is $100, so its unlikely

100 bucks between a 6s team is like 16 bucks and change. Its seriously not a lot if a team wants to advertise, and seriously not a lot if a small group wants to actually advertise tf.tv.

Competitive TF2 has accepted Teamfortress.tvs "Check out Teamfortress.tv for Comp TF2 goodness!" Congragulations!

Realistically the majority of people with a HUD that disable that notification are people who probably already know of the site, the vast, vast majority of the playerbase would still see the message. Many will instantly click it away, but thats how advertising workings, not everyone checks it out, but you reach out to a lot of people regardless.

#1 Advertising tf.tv through....engagement rings. in TF2 General Discussion

So I had a thought the other day when seeing another message pop up in TF2 about two people hooking up via the diamond ring. I thought "Man, its sure cool that you can put out a message to the entire currently playing TF2 playerbase by renaming your ring."

Hey, wait a minute, aren't people talking about how to grow TF.TV into the hub of comp TF2? Isn't the biggest problem the fact people just don't really know about it? Why the fuck aren't we advertising the site when we have a tool to do so in-game?

Yes, its 100 dollars, but try to find something else that will put words in front of that many peoples faces for less. I'm sure there are some kind of filters for what you can and cannot say, it may need to be "Teamfortress dot TV" or whatever, but whats actually stopping people from doing this? Anything, besides a few people, maybe four pitching in 25 bucks?...to show of TF.TV to a huge amount of TF2 players at once?

Anyway, it could be possible there is a rule about this or someone else has suggested it and I'm a total idiot, but its a thought, and could be used for the powers of good(?) to help the site grow.

Shitty idea y/n?

djcsending american teams to i46 brought virtually 0 exposure to this game

I disagree with this on two levels. I may not see a lot of things you see djc, but I know a good handful more people who are interested in watching (and are now playing) tf2 because of i46. Also, you can't just put out one big event and expect it to make all the difference, it has to be multiple ones. SC2 didn't get big because the GSL was a one shot deal, it got popular because it kept happening and kept peoples interest.

Also the community needs to take a part to really hype and advertise big events like this. I spammed that shit on reddit as HISTORY IN THE MAKING and it got a decent amount of attention, but I'm only one man and can only do so much. :c

Everything is moving to CS:GO, even a ton of 1.6 players are moving to GO. People like to talk shit but its a good, solid comp game, don't let fanboy tears tell you otherwise.
