console game fov is low for performance reasons and they can get away with it because you sit so far from the tv

quakers mostly use 90-100 because widescreen monitors turn that into something like 110-130

would be nice to have a cap of 120+ tho because 1280x1024 is love 5:4 is life

if you only change the collision boxes for rockets and not for moving then nothing is going to break and nobody is going to notice

i agree but inserting ads (which will never earn enough to pay for the time it took to add them in the first place) isn't going to make it worth it

you can rent a server big enough to host a wiki for $5/month or less and the domain is $12/year

you get quality hardware (maybe spec isn't top notch but you have a desktop for that), you get unix and you can run a good amount of normal people software without it being a pain in the dick.

that said, i use a £200 netbook i bought 4 years ago. it survived my compsci degree and is actually plenty fast enough to do things that aren't gaming. i doubt it would be usable with windows on it though and the battery only lasts like 45mins now

I don't have a 3DS but I've been replaying FU on hamachi with a friend, and we will probably play through P3 once we're done.

emkay: P3 is a bunch of fun, but it's short. The new weapons are cool and the new monsters are fun, but everything is nerfed. Monsters are slower, weaker (both hp and damage, to the point that G-rank quests will take <5mins more often than not, and being ran over deals 12dmg after ticking the red back), and hitboxes are much smaller. It's trivial to get evasion+2 at basically every point in the game.

I find that games which are built on simple mechanics (such as TF2 5 years ago) lead to interactions based on intelligent use of the mechanics, and are more interesting than games which try to make everything as complex as possible (such as TF2 now).

#2: I've not played it myself but I've heard from friends that it plays like a moba. The crafting is prolly fairly similar tho

Albion is a full loot MMO which is starting its final closed alpha on the 26th. The main draw of the game is that the developers are distinctly not dogshit. They sit around (and respond!!!) in IRC all day, and what gets discussed seems to be well thought out.

You have to buy a founder pack ($50/$100) for access, and you also get a few items but you can just loot the higher tier ones off baddies anyway. There are also a couple of raffles (see below) on the forums for keys.

The game is attracting players from Darkfall, GW WvW, UO, etc due to their similarities, so competition should be pretty solid.
