mthsadmsmpeng.exe is MSE's "real-time protection" program FYI. if you're seeing high cpu usage all the time add the MSE program files folder to the whitelist of files to not check (you can do this in the settings). i've had to do this on every computer i installed MSE on.
i get pretty much 00 in CPU usage
they're the same for me too.
off topic, but oddly enough it's like half of my autoexec was deleted though it actually wasn't. game started up execing like half of it for some reason.
and it turns out it wasn't the culprit all along. psu's not hot whatsoever and i'm still getting this problem. i guess that's a relief.
any other plausible causes that i could check?
edit: i have some pretty silly suspicion that msmpeng.exe (some shit for MSE) is causing it but i've done everything to it in my power to make sure it doesn't. so i dunno. my temps are fine for my cpu and gpu.
i don't fucking get what the problem could be. it's not just tf2 so i'm ruling that out. it's tf2 and bo2. haven't really noticed it in any other game but i would be completely surprised if it was only those two games. my computer's insides are also as clean as i can possibly make them right now as well.
okay so I finally got around to not being lazy and checked out what was going on with my PSU. well, it turns out it's still spinning and spinning pretty strong (not in a bad way). it was pretty dusty inside so clearly i cleaned that.
now to see if the dust was the culprit
I sent a report to Valve about this nearly half a year ago and exchanged quite a few emails about it. They said they might have found a related issue and that it would get shipped in an upcoming update, but they never shipped anything for performance or instability.
i was in a twl turbine match which was being casted and the guys casting it kept talking about something cool that i did. first time in a match of any sort and i get some type of praise for something. felt pretty good man.
downpourplaying heavy and completely locking down/air suspending rando in both of the matches against AG was pretty hilariously fun to me for some reason

i can see how people would like it, but it's far from something i'd ever bother trying. simplistic huds are the way to go.
