newbie mixes (from 2014-2016ish when i was involved) brought LITERALLY THOUSANDS of new players into the comp community with our steam group. well over 1k people played their first games because of us, when they probably wouldn't have otherwise. we fed hundreds of players into UGC in the few short years i was involved in the mixes, and put a couple dozen fully formed, financially backed teams through esea's wild ride with the help of our mentorship program.
in my time in a leadership position, i pledged to guide the mixes in whatever direction the premier na league at the time was taking the game, so any of his personal problems with what we taught are completely baseless. but i mean it's aarontimes so it's not like he's developed a rational opinion on this matter using demonstrable evidence or reasoning
i really want to know the context in which he said that because if he means that generally, i may have to come back and start mixes back up, renaming them "aarontimes is a doofus mixes" for good measure
also i'm just gonna plop this here to try and steer this ship back a bit towards course https://twitter.com/KevinIsPwn/status/835523721599266816

I feel great, tbh. Sorry you guys are all on ur deathbeds :/
arcadia15, I played tf2 on a laptop for like 3 years lol
What's the furthest distance you've been from home?
that's not an age question but ~2000 miles (Memphis, TN to Manzanita, OR)
how old were you when you most recently threw up at school?
In addition to all the standard thanks everyone is dishing out, I'd like to thank the ESA production guys that casually mentioned they could play two feeds at once when I was talking to tino about minimaps and then were totally OK with mindlessly having to switch the secondary demo rollout cam on and off for the remainder of the event.
ESA is good people, guys. When are we going back?
dashnerKevinIsPwnAlso, pumping non-mainstage casts onto the projectors would have been nice. Several people were there enjoying watching TF2, and we didn't care if it was on the stage or not. We just wanted to see some vidya game
I'm sure the tournament organizers, on the other hand, would have cared very much if the teams on the floor were able to glance at the projectors and see the cast of their game. Same reason in-house audio was disabled for floor games.
This is why I'm not in charge.
Carry on gamers
One complaint that I heard a few times (and one I share myself) is the timing of the event itself. Scheduling it a week or two earlier would have put it on the majority of college students' winter breaks, making a lot of people able to use time to actually vacation/see LA/Santa Ana.
Also, pumping non-mainstage casts onto the projectors would have been nice. Several people were there enjoying watching TF2, and we didn't care if it was on the stage or not. We just wanted to see some vidya game.
Great event overall though!
HEY so I leave in a few hours and my glasses are definitely not where I left them... if you happened to find a pair of glasses in the ShdSteel room (Embassy Suites 619), please reply or dm me or something. God bless
ps I have contacts so it's not a super-emergency. just hoping not to have to buy a new pair when home.
Hello, video game players. A lot of people spent $50+ dollars on lyft/uber to get from LAX to the venue/hotel. Let's not do that again if we can avoid it. Post when/where you're leaving and where you're wanting to split rides to.
Leaving: the embassy suites (near la quinta)
Going to: LAX
When to depart: 2-2:45 PM today
Me and my friends used to sing different barbershop tags in high-school/ freshman year of college. It's just so satisfying to sing really in tune chords, even if we couldn't sing "well".
Stop doing stressful stuff that you are able to stop (stressful hobbies, relationships, etc). Start replacing those stressful things with healthy things (exercise, mutually beneficial relationships, etc).
Obviously won't work if you have actual anxiety issues (which you should talk to a professional about), but getting that needlessly negative stuff out of your life with do wonders, gamer.
