omnificHildrethGreat news, great work by the TF2 team, didn't think they could make a difference!
Only question remains (sorry if it's been answered but I don't have time to read 8 pages) what format will the match making be?
According to EoN's post, you can choose between 6's, Highlander, 4's, Arena Respawn, etc
i'm pretty sure that's misinformation. we'll find out for sure come friday, though :D

GO TEAM, WE ARE GONNA BE OKAY.
s15 was a big season (and included main fees). i doubt they will be bringing in more player fees now than then.

DEEP BREATHS, WE GON GET THROUGH THIS
We're lf a few more backups to round out our roster. Looking for some dudes who are good at at least a few classes. You'll probably get a fair amount of play time, because a lot of us are p busy (at least for the start of the season). Gonna try and do a few tryouts tonight, hmu
edit OOPS, wrong thread. http://teamfortress.tv/thread/24611/the-shoobies-lf-highish-open-medic
I wouldn't. I've only ever really liked tf2 in terms of video games, and technology in general is pretty frustrating. I just put up with it enough to play tf2 and stream on twitch.
I hope esea finds a way to incorporate tf2 into this plan. They just fixed a lot of the issues with their tf2 service, and the tf2 numbers are as big as they have been since tf2 Main was a thing. Newbie mixes is also organizing stuff with a few large tf2/ general gaming personalities that will hopefully bring in lots of new blood into the scene (with many going into esea by the end of this year). Would be a shame if we didn't get a lan anymore, as that's one of the huge selling points for esea.
I'm super happy for CS, this is huge for their scene. But the selfish part of me can't help but be terrified of the announcement they have tomorrow.
Did you change what dx level you're launching tf2 in?
_KermitWould it be plausible to do some sort of tftv community donation? I've seen a bunch of communities do it over the years and always wondered if others from tf2 would be interested in chipping in.
I'd be down to organize that if there's actual interest. Would be pretty cool imo.

You got something mixed up there.
There are no equal-costing i7s. That's the point.
2 Years ago the FXs traded blows with the i5s, FX > i5 for multithreaded (the other way round for singlethreaded).
While today I wouldn't recommend them anymore, they're still a cheap upgrade if you got an AM3+ mobo.
Cheap being the main point. 220$ isn't cheap.
Overclocking an FX-8320/8350 is a far better idea than buying an FX-9370 or even 9590.
I'd recommend buying an aftermarket cooler anyway, the 125W FX are known for overheating, what do you think will happen with a 220W SKU?
Sorry, I was in a rush writing that, and I should have worded it much, MUCH better. The FX is a better option per $ if you factor in the cost of a new motherboard as well. Better to keep the AM3+ socket, and just upgrade the CPU than to change everything.
