#1 Which Counter Strike do you like? in Off Topic

I have seen a lot of my friends start playing counter strike lately, most of them global offensive and some of them source.

Having not gathered enough experience with any of the versions of the game to decide which one to buy just from free weekends, and having read mixed reviews online for both of them, I was wondering what version you guys prefer and why.

please dont get mad at me because of counter strike

#44 Player skill rating added to the game in TF2 General Discussion

Well I don't know what system they are talking about, but for several months now this has appeared in the console whenever I find a quick play server:

Applied updated item schema from GC. 2334529 bytes, version 6091A0F7.
Quickplay client scoring
Selected game mode: 0
Hours played: 1664.4
Valve server bonus: 0.00, noob map bonus: 0.00
Search duration: 2.5
Found 115 total servers, 87 met minimum score threshold, 25 will be sent to GC for scoring
Received 25 server scores from GC
Best GC score was 1.70

I'm sorry I have no idea if this has anything to do with anything.

#14 Advice on Headphones $200-$400 in Hardware

Check out the V-Moda M-100 I really like them and they are right in the middle of your price point. I haven't had a listen to too many headphones but this was the one out of sennheisers and audio technicas in this price range that I decided on.

They are definitely better suited to more modern music, not so much rock and jazz, but they still do quite well, and with sound software, you can make the bass sound a little more mild and they will be great, and the sound stage is pretty nice considering they dont have open backs. Noise isolation is good.

They are very comfortable, but they are a little shallow so if you have big ears maybe not.

Also you might need an amp, i never use it with portable electronics so I wouldn't know. It probably says on the website somewhere.

#11 HDMI vs DVI in Hardware
erkstonafaik that port on the xl2420z is only audio out, so you could only use it with headphones and not a mic. i doubt 770 supports audio in anyways

ok i didnt know this

ill just buy a splitter

#7 HDMI vs DVI in Hardware
erkstonif you really want audio you can drop down to 120hz and HDMI should work, but why would you want to use that audio port? just use the one on your mobo to plug in your headphones or whatever

Because its in a pretty inconvenient spot for my to plug my headphones in, and the audio in/out ports are separate, so I need a separate mic, which I don't have, or some sort of audio splitter for me to use my headphone mic and audio at the same time. From the HDMI info I have, it seems like the splitter would be the best option though.

#18 Cookies with Milk in Off Topic

Chocolate chips is my go to. I like using whole milk for cookie dunking and for making hot chocolate and in my cereal, but I prefer to drink skim when im drinking pure milk.

#1 HDMI vs DVI in Hardware

So I have a BenQ 2420Z, and a NVIDIA GeForce 770 graphics card.

Currently, I have a dual link DVI from the graphics card to my monitor with 1920x1080 @144hz.

My monitor has an audio in/out port, but since I have a DVI hooking it up, there is no audio transfer. I know that HDMI does sound as well, but I have heard that some very ranged statistics about what refresh rate and resolution HDMI supports. I am pretty sure that with newer HDMI this isn't a problem, but I am just seeking clarification.

Can I play at my current display settings and have audio in/out with an HDMI, or is there a different way to get sound through this particular monitor?

#5 Blurriness ingame in Q/A Help

yeah, I would put it on monitor ghosting. Some monitors have some options you can fiddle with to change that.
