i disabled the floating sidebars for now
should be fixed
a huge part of this game is the team aspect
have you considered asking your teammates what they can do to make your life easier?
JOEWhether it be a scout going through closet, or a soldier bombing onto train, I usually get damaged too much or die before I can deal damage.
it's definitely a scout's duty to call either of those things. that call needs to be made seconds in advance and should give you enough time to react accordingly.
Robin WalkerThe guys behind the L4D2 matchmaking system are working on broadening it out into generalized steam matchmaking. Once they have it figured out, we'll look at how it'd fit into TF2.
gaddd

maybe the hat money got to them
in the process of archiving some CommFT articles, I came across one of robin walker's old interviews:

Robin WalkerIn particular, I'd like to build some more bridges to organizers within the competitive community, which is something we've tried to do but still continue to have trouble with.
As an example of the kind of work we could do for them, several of the competitive organizations have built external tools, server mods, and scripts to help organize & run their tournaments. We'd like to see if we could move some of those systems directly into the game.
it seems this sentiment has been completely lost, as the only support the competitive side really receives nowadays comes in the form of medals or blog posts. is robin still involved with tf2 or has he moved on?
BTMPLYeah, keep the "new to" subforums more moderated than the others, perhaps?
This, god, or enigma, please - this. It's so hard to, for example, find a team on etf2l with all the memes, trolls etc.
np
who doesn't love nuking posts?
they get enabled whenever i run chris's high quality config
must be something in there
is canalzone that map with like 10 points?
kalho- can the community news section have an image of the website the news comes from? like it happens in the scheduled events and like it was before the site reform
the favicons from the sites end up looking REALLY ugly but i'll see if i can retouch them to make them fit the theme better
kalho- since the irc chat tab already connects you to the major tf2 irc channels in america, it could be done the same but for the eu
you'll have to talk to cinq -- he's the one who coded it. the tab only links to his site.
kalho- i think it was already said somewhere, but a new tab for stv/pov demos would be pretty nice. There is already tf2demos and vanillatf2 demo section but they all lack when it comes to top teams demos. Teamfortress.tv could fix that. For example, having on the same place the stv demos of all the invite officials and etf2l premier officials
a demo section is already happening
sure it's possible
i'm not going to promise it'll get implemented any time soon (the forum traffic at the moment doesn't warrant it anyway), but i'll throw it on the stack of stuff to do and get to it eventually
DavidI'm currently looking for a mentor where should I look I don't really know anyone that could mentor me, also did you ever have a mentor?
