Literally I just want ESEA to enforce a rule that your ingame name needs to be decipherable up to 8 characters and reflect your forum/steam name. At least in invite if you guys want this game to be taken seriously at all by anyone.
The way I see it, the biggest issue with TF2 blowing up right now is good stream content. Matches are the only thing you can cast in most games and ESEA is the highest level around.
You're not helping the game grow by making your name WEEDSMOKER69420 or ROFLBLAZE5HEAD

point taken, but while players on wood pig might not be as well known as players on any team in DotA, this community IS far smaller and its much easier to track who is who without too much effort.

im kind of split on this because on one hand, its not like tf2 is the only game that has professional players use different aliases (in dota, im pretty sure XBOCT aliased as Sasha Grey and other pornstars quite often in casts) so you cant just be like "if you dont use the right alias the game will not be taken seriously!" because there are WAY more reasons tf2 isnt taken seriously than because of aliases used.
however it is unfair to flame as he has been out of the loop for quite sometime now. you pretty much just gotta look at the rosters before a cast and figure out who is who before the match, unfortunately, you couldnt because you didnt know you were even going to cast a second match.
tl;dr - precautions could have been made, aliases wont kill the game, its not flame's fault though
