#7 Stuttering while streaming in Off Topic

I'm using game capture.

I tried using my custom windows theme, with OBS minimized, made no difference. Also tried keeping OBS on my second monitor (I read that somewhere). I'll try streaming with the view disabled later, maybe that'll make a difference.

#5 Stuttering while streaming in Off Topic

No, I didn't minimize OBS. I did however solve it by changing my windows theme. I was using a custom windows theme, I changed it to Windows 7 Basic.

I'll try using the Aero theme (which I doubt will work, since I think my custom theme is probably just based off of Aero?), as well as try my themes with OBS minimized, if thats what you were suggesting John.

I'll report back later, in case anyone else has the problem.

2cive never heard of anyone with an amd processor successfully stream tf2

It's running smooth as butter now :) Never dropping below my FPS cap or anything.

#1 Stuttering while streaming in Off Topic

Hey
When I'm streaming with OBS, both in fullscreen or windowed mode, my game stutters very badly. My FPS in-game still shows 200 constantly. During the split-seconds while it's frozen my game isn't taking mouse input or anything, just completely frozen I assume (not an FPS drop).
I didn't have this issue before, when I had bad internet.
My settings changed were
Bitrate: 300 -> 1600
Buffer Size: 300 -> ???
Quality Balance: 2 -> 5

That's all I've changed.
I'm not really sure what my buffer-size should be. If someone could explain it to me I'd appreciate it.

My specs:
GTX 570
AMD FX-8120 @ 3.9
8GB RAM

My upload speed is 2.1

Thanks for any help.

Edit: Should also mention, when I tab out and tab back in, my game is smooth for about 2 seconds.

#74 Coaches Needed for Newbie Mix! in TF2 General Discussion

While it seems like most people are agreeing with defy, I think he's overlooking a pretty obvious solution. The only real issue with having a coach play on a team, is that they will be a DM carry. If that's the case, why can't the coach just stop trying as hard.

It's easy to take an uber in and do massive damage and gets frags against a bunch of newbies, but it's equally easy to fake a botched uber. When I'm coaching, if my team starts going up too many rounds, or my points/dominations are getting significantly ahead, I simply let myself die more/intentionally miss shots.

If you are bad at a game, you don't have a choice but to be bad. If you are good at a game, you can choose to play badly, it's not complicated. The point of a coaches presence is to be main-calling and explaining the calls that they make.

If a coach can't handle not try-harding in a newbie mix, they simply don't deserve to be coaching; it's not a place to roflstomp on kids. The same applies for returning newbies/experienced "newbies" who really shouldn't be showing up to these any more.

I've heard people attribute that to dx8. Try using Chris' dx9 config and see if it persists?

#21 teamfortress 2 twitchtv mobile in TF2 General Discussion

The Twitch app on android to so horrendous. Watching streams with flash player a browser runs better on my shitty android phone than using the app does.

Two biggest bugs I've noticed aside from what's mentioned in here:
-The top viewed stream for a bunch of games will open, and immediately close (goes right back to the list). TF2 happens to be one of the games it does it to me for. All other TF2 streams will work, just not the top one.
-I'm forced to watch in some obscure, unwatchable resolution along the lines of 172p. If I choose a resolution higher, the video seems to play in slow-motion, but the audio plays fine. It's not an issue of my internet connection, as I've run speedtests from my phone and they should be more than sufficient enough for 480p.

#7 Pushing out of Last in Q/A Help

Kapowww said all that needs to be said. If you go out every exit, your whole team can push. If you are pushing off say a 2 player advantage, and leave a player behind, you are essentially pushing out of last only up one player. You're just gonna hurt yourself needlessly leaving players at last.
