if ur goal is to grow the scene i don't think single-div tournaments will do anything for that, and honestly i dont think cups will do that much for it in general
probably the only way to grow the community through cups would be to work with a pub community or newbie mixes or something to host a newbies-only cup with experienced coaches and a small prize pool (something like 12 keys for the winning team). i think the current newbie mix format is probably more effective and more sustainable than that though

the biggest hurdles for regular community cups will be awareness and oversaturation, not prize pool or format decisions

since cheeto's league ban on June 9th, he and gabino (racist cheater) have been getting scrims in the AM-Main range for a few days now

they've been playing with send, poonani, sexgod/frunko, elk, CripOnion, and several alts (all of those are their RGL names)

all of these players are dogshit and will either call u the n word when u kill them or laugh when their teammate does
regardless of any of that, gabino continues to blatantly cheat (goes negative anyway) and probably shares cheats with whoever any of the 8 alts they've played with in the past 4 scrims are.

i recommend blacklisting all of them (as well as anyone who plays with cheeto or gabino after Jun 8th) as scrim partners or tryouts
