#13 Anyone play THIEF yet? in Other Games
BuschmasterACRblink you should have quit while you were ahead

I don't know you, but fuck you. These are forums open for public discussion. If you want to follow the trolls around and hate on me for no apparent reason, power to you. I don't give a fuck. I am asking the normal people on the forums for their thoughts on a game that just came out. I'm glad i'm such a big deal in your life that you need to follow me into every thread like the other queers and post everytime I do. Get a life.

#60 ESEA open in TF2 General Discussion

I'll put up the same offer as Plat and squid, any open team that finishes top 2 without the help of above open players will get $120 from me as well.

He doesn't realize everyone started in open apparently. We just teleported to main/invite. Damn engineers. Apparently in todays day and age its fun to be a trolly rebel on forums.

Invite players aren't kicking anyone in the teeth.. We're just defending what we've built upon for years and years. We're the same people who mentor your team and teach you how to play. Some people just don't sugar coat their words and say it as if you're a 4 year old child. You'll take advice on how to do rollouts but not on how to NOT kill competitive TF2. Interesting. Some of you literally remind me of the guy that kick bans any good player on their server so they can enjoy raping all the newbies and feel good about themselves for once. Why play competitive if you don't plan on being competitive? There's pubs, lobbies, pugs, mge, plenty of alternatives.

When you think about it, CEVO is like the old tf2lobby.com and ESEA is like tfcenter.com, we understood going from tf2lobby to tf2center because it was an upgraded version with more potential. Right now league-wise we're going from tf2center back to tf2lobby for no reason. Hopefully this makes some more sense to the newer players.

pulpfixionAfter it's all said and done, these invite/main players(babies) wont have anywhere to go BUT CEVO so whine and complain all the fuck you want, if you ever want to play TF2 competitively looks like it's going to have to be CEVO, THE MAJORITY have spoken.

You realize when it's all said and done, you're going to quit the game before you even get good at it or before anyone knows who you are because you're never going to see what winning feels like in a league with only 2 divisions. Have fun! We warned you.

#655 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion
QuindaliblinKI'm not against CEVO at all I just think that letting ESEA disappear is going to be an extremely bad move for the community and create a big fallout of top level players.
You say this as if it's within one person's power to change the outcome. ESEA disappearance's proximate cause is the lack of open teams registering this season. But what are the ultimate causes? It's a combination of factors that have been a long time in the works and the most accurate place of blame if you're looking for it is ESEA themselves. If they gave open teams a reason to register, then the open teams would've registered. ESEA let itself die by its inaction and lack of initiative in improving its league or accomodating its players. No one "let" anything happen.

I like you Quin, you know I do. So i'll just lay it all out right here in one single ginormous question that everyone would love to know and please don't spare any details.

Question:
Do you really think in just a few days you will be able to offer a league that's an equal to ESEA AS IT IS RIGHT NOW, or do you think that will take a good amount of time? 4 competitive divisions, website functioning, servers, lans, etc.

My own personal question:
If the answer is no, which it has to be, then why have you guys been campaigning for months when you knew it would come to this? Not saying it's bad, if CEVO was 100% ready to provide something equal to what ESEA provides I wouldn't even be posting this right now. But clearly there's much to be done. So my own personal question is, since the malware is gone in ESEA, why do YOU think we need to change?

ESEA has been around for 16 seasons they shouldn't have to campaign for newer players like you guys did. They could always improve their system but they don't need an entire overhaul like CEVO does. Never before have I ever really seen ESEA on the forums campaigning for new members because everyone already knew that was our "premier" league. Obviously you guys joining forces with CEVO and making a big run for it publically when this has never happened before would split the community. So if this was your intention then I really hope you, Lange, and everyone else all of whom I respect really know what you're doing. Otherwise you're going to put a big hurt on competitive TF2 for absolutely no reason at all besides shifting websites and putting out a lesser quality league initially. In a game that's 7 years old and already questionably in decline competitively it's a real fragile situation.

Do you really think if CEVO hadn't come about, that ESEA would be having these problems filling up their open division? I don't think so. If it's not broke don't fix it. That's my opinion. And I don't really like ESEA as a company I just enjoy the best competition. I don't like to work either. I have to go there though to make money unfortunately if I want to have nice things in life.

#583 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion

I'm the furthest thing from an "ESEA supporter" as most people know. I planned on playing in both leagues because I don't think killing ESEA is the right move. It's still our bread and butter. It will do more harm than good. CEVO isn't ready yet that's obvious. I think CEVO could become equal or better than ESEA in time but it's definitely not that time yet. The divisions are funky, the site isn't very functional, new stuff still needs to be implemented, and we already have all of it in ESEA. I'm not against CEVO at all I just think that letting ESEA disappear is going to be an extremely bad move for the community and create a big fallout of top level players. If you like that idea so that maybe one day you'll actually have a chance to win, then you'd probably choose to play in CEVO even when it isn't ready yet and just let ESEA die.

All this is, is taking one league and trying to make it exactly like another league without any real changes coming into play. WHAT IS THE POINT? AND IS IT WORTH THE RISK? Money is a dumb excuse, so is the heal stats, and the malware is gone. Let CEVO continue getting its stuff together as they just came back and when it's ready then the switch would be a lot more feasible and maybe more high level players will be bought in.

Not completely, I blame a few things. One obvious thing is the "political party" situation we seem to have stemming from the community. Albeit all good people and respectful, stepping up to try and better our situation but it's really not needed. People like being in a position of power. This propaganda bullshit is swaying our newer players away from the real competition. This isn't a presidential election it's our games livelihood and if I was a new player i'd be listening to the people who have been involved in this competitive community for years and years. We've all invested our time and money into making ESEA what it is and to throw it away for nothing but a half assed duplication with minor changes is just completely insane. I apologize if I sound harsh but i'm just speaking from my own perspective and very bluntly (as usual). No disrespect to the CEVO guys. I also blame ignorance and bitterness. Not just on the newer players but even some veterans.

If you want another My Gaming Edge v2 League Edition, then don't play ESEA. Don't worry though because you'll get 5 year old videos on how to do cp_badlands demoman rollouts so the newer players feel more welcomed :) If you're a new player who doesn't know what My Gaming Edge was, then just play ESEA and trust us.

#478 ESEA's possible demise? in TF2 General Discussion

What's really going to be sad is when 6 months later rolls around and you're all left looking at each other asking yourselves "Why did we do this? There was no reason to". If you kill ESEA and CEVO turns out to be crap and competition of a not so serious nature which people don't find fun, ESEA won't be waiting for our return. So then you, the open players, will selfishly destroy what people have been working so hard to build up for years. lpkane doesn't do the work, Killing does it. We do it. We show up, we pay, we play the damn game and make it competitive and fun. As far as i'm concerned ESEA is a template, and it's the best template for us to use to drive our organized competition. Stop making this about being against ESEA. Killing and Kalkin previously ran ESEA-TF2, nobody else. And he's done a good job, and an even better one if some of you nitwits realize how much pointless badgering and nonsense he has to put up with on a daily basis for nothing but the good of the game. CEVO will take years just to become as good as ESEA and at that point the game will be even closer to the point of no return. Your 2 major complaints are savings 20 cents a day and having heal stats? Jesus fucking christ people. God gave you a brain to use it. You're going to kill off the top level competition and your main concern is if people are going to use cheats on private servers during matches?

Perhaps the game is already close to death if the new comers would rather play in a less competitive league to use their *kewl* unbanned weapons and just enjoy pub scrimming instead of playing the best competition for a real pay to play prize league with a LAN. Progress, not regress. Very hard to just do a total re-working of the system when the game is 7 years old. To the newbies this game isn't new just because you found out it became F2P.

P.S. please save the bullshit comments like "I may be new but i've been watching streams for 4 years and just decided to start playing yesterday, so yeah I know what i'm talking about."

PheeshblinK It's crazy how someone would put so much time into something like that but to each his own.Lol blinK, you probably spent 10x as much time in mulch_dm back in the day. You can't escape your past! :P

Probably similar time but mulch_dm is the equivalent to ammomod which is like its own game setting but it does improve your in game skills with aiming/movement. So at least it's practicing for the game. I don't know of many surfable competitive maps. Doesn't take away from the fact that it's cool though lol and probably incredibly difficult.

Plus phish, 10 years ago it wasn't as easy as it is today with getting pugs on early in the day. All we had was mulch or pubs to play in really.

#57 single player games in Other Games

I would suggest the newest Metro Last Light. One of the best all around games i've ever played. Amazing graphics, amazing story, titties and a lot of combat scenarios. Very impressive game.

I'm very similar where in between seasons i'll look for some games to change things up a bit. I've found pleasure in the following:

Batman Arkham City
BioShock Infinite
Borderlands 1 & 2
Deus EX: Human Revolution
Dishonored
DmC Devil May Cry (Different, arcade style)
FarCry 3 (MUST HAVE!)
Lost Planet 3
Saints Row The Third
Tomb Raider
Dead Space 3
Crysis 3
Skyrim
Mass Effect 3

Right now i'm checking out Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist, so far so good but a little too sneaky for my taste. All of the above were great games though.

I've also never played magic in my life but i'm enjoying Magic 2014. It's cheap too and chews up a lot of free time. I'd definitely go for Metro and FarCry first.

#43 I didn't know this about ESEA, did you? in TF2 General Discussion

If it was a lot of money I would've fought the payments but it's only about $70 in total. Hopefully some people are aware of this now. Rikachu if you're paying for a friend as a courtesy because they can't afford it somehow why would you sign up to a reoccuring billing cycle for someone else? It's just misinterpreted wrong because of the way it's displayed. How many people do you know that consistently pay for other peoples premiums? It should be different when paying for someone else in my opinion there should be a one time payment option.

For example, lets say we work together and i'm gonna take you out to lunch one day for pizza, I cover the tab to be nice. You go there for pizza every week there after by yourself should I still be paying YOUR tab each time you go? That's just how I look at it.

Post the entire screen shot not just the small print at the bottom, but that's for an individual. See what it says when you go to pay for a teammate.
