Lag Spikes when entering combat.

So like the title says, I get terrible lag spikes and it seems to be when i enter fights. If I jump in as soldier i just lag out. I use a USB WiFi card, which I know is garbage, but untill I get my setup hardwired is there anything I can do? Also i have two setups and use the same wifi cards at each location and have no problems at one.
