yomps played his first season in IM and won and then played invite so its definitely possible you just have to be a superhuman

i ended up just going to cali and having a blast chilling with the homies at an airbnb but honestly fuck sami and dashner for screwing over so many other people, esp people who were going to fly internationally
I get people being concerned about Lange and make sure he's okay or whatever but can we chill out with the armchair psychiatrist shit? We don't know what's going on with him or what the motivation for this stuff is, doesn't feel right to be saying he has such and such mental illness or not. Sucks he deleted the nodecg repo tho whatever it was that led him to do it.
Obviously ETF2L can do what they want and regular season matches probably don't hold much consequences. But as a ruleset I'm not sure how I feel about it, don't game in EU happen relatively early at like 8pm UK time? Seems a little weird to have these time limits on games that aren't LAN with super limited time.
Also, wouldn't this encourage a team that loses mid on golden cap to stalemate and never push out because they get a free pass to another middle? In ESEA we had no time limit and the longest golden cap I ever saw was a 30 minute one between my team and ascent, where we went back and forth from last to last on badlands until eventually the better team (ascent) won.
TF2 is about winning rounds and a large part of what makes the game interesting is the better team can lose a middle but still win the round by consistently outplaying the other team in team fights and pushes/holds. Middles have a lot of randomness and it seems like it would be so frustrating to play a golden cap for 15 minutes and scrape your way to the enemy last but then have all your progress nullified and end up getting unlucky and losing middle. We don't measure the best teams based off who won more middles, we measure it by who won the most rounds.
I wanna see aim legacy with all 69 airshots from rewind 2
yea id def play in one day/weekend cups with lower commitment, sounds like a good way to keep the community engaged w/o lans
Cool stuff, looks really nice in 1440p too. Slow mo looked a bit choppy at times but overall loved it.
WazrachOh nice! Have you tried lower refresh rates with PureXP? 224Hz is a lot better than 240Hz. The overdrive is much better and there's enough bandwidth for 10-bit colour.
You should really try out my 119Hz resolution. It's so glass smooth, it's unreal. It makes 224Hz and especially 240 look blurry in comparison. All you need to do is set the vertical total to 2269.
If you're comfortable with 224Hz PureXP and prefer it over 119Hz PureXP, I still recommend using the low-lag VSync trick. The goal is to remove tearing and improve the frame pacing so that the game looks and feels consistent.
Also, yeah - the game looked and felt pretty bad before. There are definitely better specs for super high refresh gaming, but I have the Ryzen 5 3600 and 5700 XT.
I haven't tried any of the other PureXP modes but it already looks razer sharp and I have no issues with the screen looking too blurry. In fact it's consistently impressed me how clear it looked, and that I am able to run it at 240hz and have tracking be super smooth. Does lowering the refresh rate make the input delay better in some way? Because I would much rather have a smooth 240hz experience than a 120hz one with a little less input delay and a little more clarity for motion blur. I have a 3600XT and 2070 super and my game runs very smooth so I don't really see any reason to drop it.
I'm confused, was your problem that you couldn't get 240fps constant and so got screen tearing and input delay? I have the same monitor (love it) and run it with PureXP at 240hz and it's great, but that only really works because my pc can get 240+ fps constantly. I'm probably not understanding correctly but I don't quite get what this RTSS/vsync stuff actually give you practically speaking.
The boys gonna hold it down for yet another season, excited to see dingo and soapy soldier (and aZn finally back to med)
Why are all these players banned from div1 lmao ether soldier is the only one that makes sense. Shouldn't the div below invite allow up and coming players/teams to practice together and improve versus forcing players to form these hodgepodges of offclassers? Alanny is good but if he can't get picked up on an invite team this basically just prevents him from playing his main (and presumably favorite) class at all which is super lame (same for um and everyone else who was in div1)
Hell it's even possible that the team that wins the div1 dies and some of the individual players don't end up finding invite teams, don't you want them to be able to join or form teams in div1 that can improve together and have another shot at playing invite? Otherwise these players are effectively removed from the system just by virtue of winning and getting unlucky. Invite this season only has 6 teams so it is even more selective for div1 players to get picked up, it seems very unreasonable to just block them from playing imo. If your anti-sandbagging rules are forcing people to offclass or potentially switch their main (if they are permanently banned from the class in the future) that's probably not a good thing...
Also, I would argue that it is better to risk having "stacked" div1 teams with people who did well in playoffs because that allows more teams to move up to invite. ESEA was way too lenient (and shouldn't have let 8k and johnmilter sandbag as much), but at least there were always teams alive at a high IM level that could be moved up to invite when it needed teams. Having 9 teams in invite every season definitely felt more healthy than such a small division as 6 teams where one team dying can drastically change the dynamics of the season and playoffs. But if RGL is fine with 6 team invite and wants to be more restrictive that's their prerogative obviously.
this team looks fkn EPIC
kaptain better put his jump skills to work on roamer and quint sync a medic
pissy demo about to take invite by STORM
