my twin brother played tf2 on the xbox (from the orange box) at a friend's house and told me it was super fun so we both downloaded it on steam when it went free to play (and the rest was history)
used to pub with him all the time and i remember yelling across the house at each other from our rooms when we killed each other and shit (clearly this was before we knew what mumble was or probably had proper mics/headsets)
i think i found out about competitive from star_s videos and/or tf2lobby.com

Gubbinsb4nny-Ruleset: 45 minute timelimit, 5 round winlimit 5cp/4 round winlimit koth, two 120 second tactical pauses allowed per team per map
What was the reasoning behind the choice to limit game length to 5 rounds?
it's what esea uses and because it's a 45 minute time limit it prevents games from being complete steam rolls (ie, having to wait out the full 45 minutes because the winning team can't get to 6-1)
mercy rules don't seem like a very big deal to me at least, would rather have a game finish out 5-4 than go 5-5 and 6-5 and keep going back and forth for the next 15 minutes or whatever
smesidamneasySounds like aids for medicthis game in general is already aids for medic so it doesnt really matter
ultiduo baloo is already almost entirely determined by whether or not the medic is good and can hit arrows this just makes it even more important
that said its hard to be worse than normal ultiduo baloo so there is definitely potential

as with cereal's aids you can't call it bad before you play it & have logs for proof

lmao i literally juggled u straight into my medic and me what a high level maneuver
the inner machihnations of my mind are an enigma
TsarbucksOnce Upon A Time, There Was A Disabled Player Named CookieJake. He Started As A Scout Main But Later Realized His Disablity Crippled Him From Using His Arms. With This Realization, He Switched To Medic To Prove To Everyone He Could Finally Win The Intermediate Division.
I think you left out the part where he lost im and then lost open the season afterwards
wasnt this posted in the other thread
http://na.serveme.tf/
just rent a server from here
its a sign that you shouldnt play baloo (its a shit map)
for real tho clearly either you put in the wrong ip/port/pass or messed up the syntax there, or the server doesn't actually have any ultiduo maps/configs
i dont presume you have FTP access but if you did you could upload the map yourself
pretty sure you can rent a server from serveme.tf (na or eu depending on your region) which will have the proper configs/maps
this thread is stupid
you probably already know this but most laptops come with shit hard drives (5400rpm usually) and if they have ssds they are massively overpriced so your best bet as far as that is concerned is to just buy one separately and install it yourself (there's usually videos on youtube of people doing it provided its possible for your given model)
for around that price about a year ago i got an asus with a quad core i7 and dedicated gpu and decent display (15" @1080p) but the downside is that its mad heavy and the power supply/charging cable thing is a huge fucking brick
during thanksgiving break i played on it and though 60hz was a pain it got pretty good fps (i copied comanglia's config from my main desktop, got 100+fps pretty much all the time)
im sure you can find 14 inch or smaller ones with cpus (all that really matters for tf2 tbh) that will fit your needs
from my experience the most important things for having a good experience are just having an ssd and a fast cpu (128gb is fine for a school laptop unless he's downloading tons of music or dumping tons of media on it for some reason its not like a bunch of word docs will add up to 100gb)
someone else who knows what theyre talking about can probably elaborate on which current parts are best or on if you need a dual core or quad core or whatever (afaik tf2 isnt very well multithreaded but at the time i did a lot of video editing which benefits from that)

luc cant win IM or get any wins in invite so by the process of elminiation open is the only option
sometimes you just gotta grind it my man no pain no gain
KonceptI personally didn't have a good experience with Lawrena (it wiped all of my cfgs and custom folder and i couldn't find where the files got moved to), but I actually use the recording software that I got with my graphics card, shadowplay if you're an Nvidia user. Believe the name of it is the plays.tv recorder or something like that.
pretty sure lawena moves the custom folder to like lwrtcustom or something like that
kirby made a guide a while back
i honestly cant be bothered to wait for that shit so if i ever do that i just use obs and local record or stream and highlight/clip it lol
last i remember was the awkward speedshot to pogo to wallcatch stage on jump_it (4th from last i think)
after about 20 minutes i gave up and tried to cheat it but couldnt get a proper sync and went back to grinding it
ended up getting like a 1:12 time (an hour and 12 minutes that is)
two years ago after seeing defy unable to beat jump_natural i downloaded the map and stayed up all night grinding it
i REALLY wanted to beat the map but doing 3 speedshots in a row was too hard for me
