#63 TFTV Twitch Emotes in TF2 General Discussion

The uber drop and lol hl are fantastic and would be really good for twitch chat tbh.

The airshot ones could work they don't look bold enough to see what's happening when its sized down.

KevinIsPwn these will potentially be only be four out of nine emotes.

Using 4 our of 9 just for some select phrases isn't exactly the best tbh, maybe when you have a higher volume of emotes available then yeah but as it stands it will just lower the choices available.

I think you should have some emotes that can be used in certain situations and as well can just me used to express an emotion or something.

Having a face like this for a spy as an example would work ok for moments where there is one in game (imagine the spam) and can actually be used as an expression (similar to EleGiggle). Could be used like a sarcastic kind of way "NICE UBER tfSpy"

I would also say that steering away from faces of TF2 people would probably be recommended because there's only a few people that could warranty such a face and it actually be used (Admirable is literally the only person and he's pretty relevant for people old and new to the game).

You can also have things like the following:

Critical Hit emote, I had one lined up for my stream but I'm saving it for some reason and I'm not sure if it will look good.

There are many other ideas I have but I want them for mine :( But I guess it's better for a channel that actually has subs (self burn).

Reading back through my post I sound like some fucking twitch chat historian or some bollocks.

Doom 4 looks insane, I cannot wait for it, it looks like a revamped version of the old ones, Doom 3 suffered from taking itself way too seriously whereas this one just wants you to fuck shit up. Not only that the modding tools are insane and that is really important these days where you want value for money, to give these kinda of tools to the community is awesome as there really will be no limit to what you can create it seems.

Dishonoured 2 looks okay, the first one had good gameplay elements but the story was pretty weak, although the trailer is just CGI but I liked the look of the setting.

F4 seems amazing I really liked F3 but the game kept crashing so I couldn't finish it but they really have gone all out on this, even if the game doesn't look amazing graphically compared to others it makes up with it with all the shit you can do.

i am way to erect.

I always get really excited in these kind of threads and just end up feeling disappointed :( I was hoping for the next command to bring consistent 420 fps

The streaming part is really good, being able to watch twitch in game with all the additional information is going to be awesome, not only that but having steams own streaming platform built in is also awesome and could again push some tournament organisers to using it either solely or in conjunction with twitch, these new streaming options are really going to be forcing some movement from twitch's end as well.

#32 youtube gaming in Off Topic
brownymasterIt's entering way too late in the scene. It'll gain some traction, but there's really no cancer chat like twitch chat. Maybe during the next Horror incident people will migrate, but people don't have many reasons to switch unless youtube pays the streamers enough to switch.

Also enjoy posting with your real name in chat Kappa (making alt google accounts is a lot more annoying now that you need a phone or tablet).

I beg to differ, there's a lot of really big YouTube streamers that only rarely stream on twitch as it's a separate platform and they lose a large chunk of their audience, if these people start streaming on YouTube and some twitch streamers see how successful it is I think some would jump ship.

However, I guess this won't really stop people like phantomlord and other streamers that just sit there and open cases.

And just take a look on how it looks: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/06/lookout-twitch-youtube-gaming-is-coming-this-summer/

twitch better have been working on something.

kKaltUuIt says on top that this match is starting at 20 as well, not too happy about this getting in the way of HL showmatches, expected more out of 6s management

It was on purpose, who wants to watch highlander? They are doing tf2 a favour.

I think this is really going to kick twitch in the balls, especially in terms of quality of service, YouTube is massive and would take a large portion of viewers away if some big tournaments went over their and started streaming live through YouTube.

One of the big things twitch has to its advantage is the community/twitch chat, but I really hope this makes twitch actually come out with a decent html video player.

It would also be really interesting to see how YouTube handle ad revenue or any other monetary tools for streamers, but I really hope this is a way to bring high quality streams to the mix, whereas I like watching twitch streamers some do put little to no effort and just take their position for granted without actually providing gaming content.

The music thing as well is kinda annoying but I think for quite a few decent and interactive streamers it won't be a problem, and if you like playing music it's pretty easy to play music without it broadcasting out to everyone anyway.

#61 TF2Center Update: Advanced Lobbies! in Projects

This would need to be piss easy and work flawlessly to get people to play it, I'd also suggest giving out prizes as some incentive when it's available to all, maybe something like highest win % at the end of the month or something. That way you will have people playing and actually trying to win as well.

Either way, I'm in.
