#8 Favorite DM map? in TF2 General Discussion

For DM purposes only, I think snakewater, process, badlands, turbine, and freight are all great maps.

edit: viaduct and coalplant are pretty good too

I don't know most of the people on this team, but I've known SilentDom for quite some time and he is one of the coolest and chillest people I've ever met.

#3 Trouble with Fonts on Mac in Customization

It works fine for me in a word processor, but like before, it still doesn't work in tf2. The problem must be with how it's defined in clientscheme, but I haven't changed anything from the way the hudmakers uploaded them.

Here is an example from HudAmmoWeapons.res:

"AmmoInClip"
{
"ControlName" "CExLabel"
"fieldName" "AmmoInClip"
"font" "Garm3nFontHuge"
"fgcolor" "Garm3nHUDWhite"
"xpos" "c0"
"ypos" "r106"
"zpos" "5"
"wide" "100"
"tall" "42"
"visible" "0"
"enabled" "1"
"textAlignment" "center"
"labelText" "%Ammo%"

}

And the corresponding font in my Clientscheme.res:

"Garm3nFontHuge"
{
"1"
{
"name" "HandelGothic BT"
"tall" "52"
"weight" "500"
"additive" "0"
"antialias" "1"
}
}

The name of the font file in my resource folder is HANDGOTN.TTF

#1 Trouble with Fonts on Mac in Customization

I decided just to make a thread for this rather than bumping the HUD modifications thread.

I'm trying to use the QL version of Garm3n hud (I have tried both gunblade's recent update of it, as well as dob's version). Everything works fine (all the fonts, hud elements, etc.) except the damage numbers and health/ammo. This is what they look like:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=253931050

I know the font works on my mac (I can successfully type with it in a word processor), but for some reason it just won't work in tf2. Is tf2 using it differently then a word processor? Does it have to be defined a specific way in the hud .res files? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I downloaded the quake version of M0rehud and used the health, ammo, and damage number .res files from it in the garm3n hud version, i have no clue why that worked, but it did.

The font, Handel Gothic BT seems to work just fine on my mac (I can use it to type in a word processor) but it doesn't seem to be successfully implemented in game only. Why would it not work in tf2, but it works everywhere else?

VolodervanillaFor some reason the fonts in gunblade's recent (march) update of the garm3n QL hud are not working for me:

I'm playing on a mac, so I feel like that's probably why. I made sure to install all the fonts, is there something else I need to do to make them work properly?
Fonts on mac are really weird. You either need to edit them in a font editor or use a different font that you know works on mac.

Has anyone gotten the QL fonts to work on mac yet? Otherwise, what would I need to edit in that font to make it work with macs?

The first picture is what I prefer. The purple highlight when you select either red or blue makes it look like you've highlighted E and R in the second one.

#11 the return in TF2 General Discussion
useofWell, it is in the Highlander section. Bonus is a team with a lot of history in HL, probably even from before the seasons listed on the roster page (since if I recall correctly, DesA in season 5 was sort of a precursor to bonus). I think it's kind of neat to see so many players that I definitely think of as being "from bonus" back on the same roster.

I get that you can't tell when looking at the "forum activity" sidebar what section a thread's in. It just seems weird that the reaction on seeing the thread would be "damn this thread title vying for my precious browsing attention" instead of "oh, it's the highlander section, moving on".

... so when are you coming back? I miss your videos with different crosshairs in them each time.
