#35 How to Become a Better Scout Player? in TF2 General Discussion
scrabOk here's a step-by-step guide

+good shit

I know Scrab mentioned it but really, don't neglect your movement. I kinda realised recently that i have really bad movement even for my mediocre level because I only ever focused on my aim and so even if I can hit shots, I'm not getting into good positions or im taking damage needlessly. The art of scout (and probably other classes) is really in the movement imo. For movement I think MGE is better than DM, especially scout vs soldier,.

Also, as somebody who switched sens a crazy amount of times, it's really true about what scrab said about your dm needing to be second nature. For me, thinking about my sens (and so aim) meant that I wasted so many scrims because I was focusing on if i was hitting shots rather than the actual thought process of the game itself. Of course, changing sens constantly also limited my mechanical improvement which kinda stunted my progression for 2 years or so, so don't do that.

funhaver19981. High refresh rate monitor
2. ADADADADADAD
3. you must have low sense
4. only track NEVER flick
5. Stay alive.
7. make yourself healable
8. Do not overextend

Kinda makes no sense when some of the best scouts in the game use high sens too, including our lord and saviour B4nny.

non-yelling sleeper pick

Great film (imo his best after Heat and Godfather) but that's one of his main shouty films

That's where the Hoo Ah in my OP comes from

buudHow about some of the ol' Ludvig van while sipping chai from a nice portculan chasha, followed by some ultraviolence.

And if you're lucky, a bit of the ol' in-out.

Just a few I've been listening to recently:

Vaughan Williams - A Lark Ascending
Thomas Tallis - Fantasia on a Theme (probably my favourite classicial piece).
Bach - Cello Suite
and also Bolero by Ravel actually.

I've watched too much kid stuff, need to watch better classics and more niche films

Mate, from your list you've barely discovered the 90s, never mind the classics :D

Also, can we get rid of this shite where winning Product 3-2 is counted as a Golden Cap win?

Makes no sense.

I mean, assuming you could get a good time span on your agreement, shorting it after the reddit push was/is just easy money.

Solemn Vow banned?

Seems kinda OP/dumb to have a weapon that removes an aspect of counting ubers, judging health advantage, and risk when making decisions.

#33 no pistol spread in Projects

I did wonder if in some instances the spread actually helped scouts; if their tracking was off but the spread meant that shots still hit when with no spread they would have missed, but this seems like a massive long distance buff in particular.

buudStylaxBut the fact remains that you'd get more pugs going if the draft wasn't killed so often and people would spend less time waiting.
Yes I agree completely and my previous point was pretty stupid.
IMO kills can be ok but most of the time they're big mood killers, especially if long wait or if they got chained, but what can be done to prevent them? Theres already captain bans and removing the draft timers could break the site for obvious reasons

I don't really know but if the admins can't specifically do anything then people have to take it upon themselves to make sure the draft goes through rather than pandering to people begging in the chat for it to be killed or whatever.

Probably never going to happen but I suppose if people see the top players 'respecting' the draft process and people push the issue, others are likely to do the same. I know the whole 'respect the draft' idea sounds very cringey (and sounds like some U.S political slogan), but you get the point.

buudStylaxDisregarding the above, why is it a thing that people can kill the draft so that their friends can play?

A few nights ago we had a draft going, someone killed so their friend could play and then half the people didn't bother re-adding cause it was taking so long. I know it's a circle jerk but it also slows the process and makes it harder for shitters like me to get into pugchamp. You kinda end with the same people playing every pug rather than new people.

Surely that's the whole point of the deadline timer really; to get pugs starting asap so you can have more pugs overall.
pugs were made for high level of play and most of the time people kill either to not have a shitty roll pug or to have a few better players add increasing the quality of the pug, there's new rules about killing without a reason too

I'm sure the skill level is truly astronomical, but the fact remains that you'd get more pugs going if the draft wasn't killed so often and people would spend less time waiting. You could argue that redrafting so a good player is in the draft means that the next draft is worse too so it's a net of 0.

And actually I think pugchamp was made so that people can play pugs, so it fits in with that.

Not a witchhunt against the admins, but I think it's one of the issues that stops Pugchamp getting new blood too and probably should be addressed every bit as much as, for example, offclassing rules.
