#16 Working in China. in Off Topic
fade-im not trying to say that berkeley was a shithole or anything, i loved the atmosphere of the city but some parts of the bay area are just really run down (elcerrito for example idk if anything has changed since I was there)

still loved the city, but maybe my perspective was skewed due to going from toronto suburbs to an smaller apartment for a while (+ i lived for a while in albany ca which was still pretty nice tbh) not trying to shit talk cali at all

buffalo's a nice place if u stay between main and richmond which gives u like a 4 block strip where ur actually safe tbh

but in stark contrast i always felt safe in toronto and china was just different and really cool and i loved it

so what you're saying is: "I only feel safe around chinks and chink bubbles." Literally every urban city is like that lmao

fade- it's not all sweatshops and sex slaves like you have this image of

Fu Zhou/Fujian is full of sex workers, it's pretty common for girls from poor rural areas of China to move into more populated areas to become sex workers while they have their looks.

fade-america's literally the biggest shithole ever compared to both toronto and china

To generalize the US based off limited experiences in 2 cities while playing videogames in your apartment is pretty asinine. I guess living in ur high-rise condo in China paid for by your parents money that they made in America is hella nice. Families from lower classes literally have green card marriages to live in the US and work a low-wage 80 hour job at some chinese restaurant.

Back when I lived there during summers the river water was green af, trash was the scent that filled the air, and everyone smokes. Saying America is a shithole and China isn't is just a delusion by your yellow tinted glasses.

On topic: China is pretty swell, don't take shit from anyone, always haggle.

glorySteveCWhat's there to lose? I'd take it in a heartbeat.
not when the org looks like it just started a day ago. the org is ran by 1 person which is already a huge turnoff for me and its owner and only member of the organization is immature plus they have one post on their website which convinces me more that he started their org extremely recently

But what's there to lose? He's is giving away a server and league fees. I get you gotta protect your "personal brand"(lmao) but when a nigga offers you a free T-shirt, mug, or sticker. You take it.

#15 montgomery college in Off Topic
do0mwhat campus?

Rockville and Takoma Park. At least 1/3 of my classes were online.

I understand the arguments for Community college(financially cheaper tuition and living at home) but what I've came to realize was that, given that college years are some of the most crucial moments of growth in your life. Why would you skimp on quality of education and put yourself in a network of people that aren't as passionate in their studies?

The potential to maximize growth and immerse yourself in like-minded people at a university studying similar interests are much higher than at a CC. When you're living on-campus, you're immersed in a whole world of people that have more open schedules for study groups, after school projects, and self-interest delving into your major. At a CC, it's much much harder to get schedules in sync and convince people to do some generic ass curriculum. You're paying for the education, not just the passing grade.

But yeah, if your after school activities include binge gaming I'm all for CC. Subconsciously, that pretty much the reason why I choose Montgomery college lol

I went there. I don't think anyone plays TF2 there.

I mean, there may of been two. I met a brony that played steam games in my speech class. I decided to cut him loose after he got trolled by an internet friend. Another time I was walking down a hallway and a guy saw me wearing the demoman shirt and was like "nice shirt". I said thanks and went on my way. This was like 3+ years ago.

I don't think anyone here is gonna proudly admit they went to community college. I didn't spend any of my time there socializing, it was pretty depressing.
